I have just looked at 'todays hot topics'

Do topics have to be banal and vaccuous to become "hot" or is it just that they are easier to respond to because you don't actually have to think. I realise that some of my own postings leave a lot to be desired but honestly what is the point of responding to a posting where nothing has been said at all?

You're right-they are "hot" because people can quickly post and earn more money. It's such a shame because there aren't enough actual discussions here at MyLot....
