Cooking Smiles

So, we moved into a townhome with very sensitive smoke detectors, a few months later my husband got a job at a new company. In the past (as any of my ex-roommates can attest) I have not cooked often, but when I did cook, there were copious amounts of food. When I became a homemaker and my husband went to work, I decided to start trying to cook on a more regular basis and more reasonable amounts of food. Apparently my husband commented to one of his co-workers that the first time I attempted to cook in the town home it was a real fiasco because after the second attempt when he was TRYING to comfort me about the first dinner while eating the second one(or so he says), he mentioned that could could tell his co-worker that "Tonight's dinner wasn't as bad as last night's, at least she only set off three smoke alarms instead of all four." Knowing he was just trying to make me smile and that he was eating the second dinner anyway and afterward complimenting me on it, I decided I wouldn't have to smother him in his sleep. ;-)

Awwwww! How nice of him to compliment your efforts! :) I'm a guy who cooks, and have had Women in my Life who simply weren't graced with the skill... but I love cooking for them, and when they make an effort I will praise them. It's an Act Of Love, and that's all the matters! :) Here's a recipe calculator for you: http://www.cookingbynumbers.com and find great recipes on video for free: http://www.expertvillage.com Have an excellent day! :)

Yeah, he's sweet. At least I know if they ever have a potluck at his work, they won't be too upset when he brings something pre-prepared.
