chinchillas love to chew things,so i'd start by putting a small tree branch or something for him to chew on.wheels arent good for chinnies cos they can get their tails stuck-unless u can find one without gaps.my chinchilla likes to run in out of tunnels ,so u cld try and make him something, preferably not cardboard though as the chinchilla will eat this and it can make him ill.some pet shops sell tubes to put in chinchilla cages,so see what your local pet shop has to offer.good luck!

you discussions are so funny!
to maske his cage more interesting u could use different types of paper instead of newspaper, make a stand that shows his personality, put up a painting of the mona lisa lol etc.

I gave my chins things like little coke bottles, large marbles that they couldn't get int their mouths, the marbles that I used where fist sized my chins liked to stand on them and roll them around. Another thing that I did for them was I gave them bells to ring, I took these out at night so I could sleep. They had lots of things to chew, and I took them out every day for at least 3 hours.

For my chincilla, I got a wooden shelf that goes inside the cage and attaches to the bars. He loved standing on it and it was also good because he like to chew on it. Also, I read that things like bird toys with mirrors work and keep them entertained. You can give him a wheel, just make sure it is a solid plastic one, not a wire one with spaces because his feet are too small and he could break them. This is good for him to have something to do in the middle of the night so he is quiet.

One thing I found is you can buy a chinchilla couch or chair that they can eat from petco, petsmart or some pet store. Give them some fruit tree branches they love them. put a bell in there, give him or her a stuffed animal mine loves stuffed animal n toys that he can play n chew. give him or her a dust house he or she will go crazy flipping it all over the place trying to get it as comfortable as possible. its fun to watch them with their dust rolling over n over like a cat in a litter box. have fun.
