How many of you mothers took a pregancy test when you thought you were pregnant and it came up negative to find out only a few weeks later that you really were?

i skipped october and i was sick all month so i thought i might be pregnant. i took a test the first week of november--negative. so i waited and by mid november i hadn't gotten my period that month either so I took another test right before thanksgiving. It was positive. Turned out though that I didn't get pregnant till oct 28th...so the first time i took the test i was only a week pregnant. the second time i took it i would have been almost a month pregnant. it takes some time for the hormones to show up enough for the test to turn positive.

This happened to me with my second child. I had 3 negative tests (one a week starting when I was a week late) until I finally got a positive one. My due date was accurate and he was born relatively on time so I never knew why those first three tests were negative. I knew I was though because I "felt" like I was and was getting sick a lot.

Right there's something that's in you that you just know sometimes in your gut!

obviously i'm not a woman. but my wife's doctor explained the pregnancy kit accuracy to us. when your test came out negative its not 100% sure not your not pregnant. it might be because your pregnancy is too early for the kit to give any accurate reading. give it another week or two and try the test again.
but if the result is positive it is 100% sure that you are pregnant.
