Why do lincon and michael have different family names?
they're brothers right?..so why have different family names??

It's possible that Schofield is Michaels second name. I think I remember seeing his name as: Michael Schofield Burrows somewhere. I don't think that their mother's name is Schofield because in the latest episodes he reveals his mom's name is "Christina Rose"

Christina Rose Scofield that is :). Michael probably just lived most part of his life with his mom because his dad left when he was at a pretty young age.

Linc follow his dads lastname, while michael uses their mothers maiden name. It was explained way back when secret service discover that they're brothers.

Linc and Michael have different family names cause Michael used their mother's maiden name. As far as I can remember, there was an episode which touches this topic. I don't remember though who were discussing.

yes, thats it. Michael uses his mother name, cause he didnt know his father very well. So Liconln got his dad name and Michael his mother name.
