I just joined a discussion where a girl said that she HATES when her boyfriend makes compliments to her look. Do you make compliments? Do you like to get them too or they tease and annoy you? Are there compliments who are teasing for you and the feeiing is not so pleasant?
And do you believe that all compliments are sincere:-P?

I read it and responded to it. I don't think that all compliments are sincere and that is why I have such an issue with accepting them. I try to be open minded and trusting with people but there is always this thought when I receive a compliment that for whatever reason the person is not being honest. Thanks Mom for tearing down my self-esteem and confidence all those years. *just a touch of sarcasm* But the thing is, no matter if I believe the compliment or not I always say thank you.

Giving compliments from time to time is nice. Especially when you tell it to someone who has a low self-esteem. You can actually help them build up their confidence. I admit, I like getting compliments from people especially from my boyfriend but I get annoyed when I get it all the time. Because sometimes it doesn't feel sincere anymore. I have a feeling that they are saying something nice to me just because they want me to like them. I'd pretty much appreciate it even more when I receive it during a bad day or when I don't feel comfortable with myself. It's not bad to give compliments for as long as you are sincere.

I love to get compliments, I think good compliments really can boost the spirits so to say. I will give compliments where I think it will help or cheer someone up.. It is not nice to give anything negative
