My mailman Bonny Sean-y caught me at the coffee shop this morning and had a registered package for me. My plane tickets are in my hot little hands and now all that is left is to look up the latest baggage restrictions and we are nearly out the door. I am flying to San Francisco in June and have weeks to visit. Where should we go and what should we do?

If you go to Fisherman's Wharf bring nose plugs. It stinks something awful. LOL

Oh no! Thanks for the tip. We have a harbour that we ride our bikes to in the next town (not our harbour, ours smells like picturesque roses) and it WREAKS! Hard to believe how bad they can smell!

Your so lucky. I haven't been to San Francisco yet, and it's one of the places I really want to go. My son has been there several times on work related trips. He said they have a China town that's something to see. He did a lot of sightseeing, just driving around too. One Christmas, he brought me some sourdough bread that he got in SF that was made from sourdough starter that was over 100 years old.

Oh, and of course there is the Ghiradelli choclates. I am just so happy to have the tickets. There was nothing but trouble in booking them and I was half expecting their to be some problem or mix up when they arrived, so I am really relieved! Now I can just lok forward to it.

Well, I'd say Alcatraz, but you have to get tickets months, sometimes years in advance. Of course, you have to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. If you get a chance to stand on top of one of the many hilly areas of the city, the Golden Gate Bridge is even more breathtaking - especially at twilight. And if you plan to do a lot of walking, consider the trolley - most of San Fransico is on hills. Hope you have a good time. Wish you were visiting my state! : )

Your lucky your mail man knows you otherwise that would have casued you more bother. If we are not home when the postman comes we have to go to the sorting office which is a half hour walk away adn it is open for something like four hours a day, 5 days a week. It is so ridiculous. My summer holiday is being booked today. We are going to the beach for four days just outside Amsterdam in Holland and then we are going into the city for 3 days and it should be amazing. A little bit of relazing by the beach in a villa and then into the city to party hard.

My girlfriends tease me that he has a bit of a crush on me, but I think he is actually a bit of a gadabout. I used to be flattered until I caught him flirtng with my new neighbour, because he loves his music festivals and apparently there is one held around wherever she is from. None the less, for some reason some of us get special treatment (I give him cinnamon chocolates at Christmas, so I think that is how I am in his good books), and it is handy. We have the same delivery system. If you miss your notification, you have to pick it up the same day from the office and if you miss that you have to drive to the main office in the next town! Not great, and much better to keep your post man in chocolates! He also knows my dog likes to eat mail and hangs onto anything important looking. I am sure you will have a blast in Amsterdam! You will have to check out all the narrow buildings and crazy architecture.

oh you lucky little woodpigeon you! I went to San Francisco about 7 years ago - I think my favourite thing was fulfilling a long held dream of standing on the side of a cable car holding onto the rail - espescially when there were empty seats! There are so many things to do and see that I coud sit here all night trying to list them and still miss loads out! Hope you enjoy yourself sweets - can't wait to hear all about it! xx

Wow! SF! I was there many years ago and that was one of the most beautiful city that I have ever been to in the world. I really enjoyed my two day short visit to SF. If you are there, do not miss driving at the crookedest street (Lombartd Street).

I'm excited for you. I've been two or three times, since I live right here in California. I love to go to Cannery Row. There are tons of cool shops and restaurants. Also, you can look down from off the pier and see tons of sea lions at Pier 39. I also recommend Alcatraz Island. It's really interesing, be prepared to do a lot of uphill walking. When I was there we were able to get tickets for Alcatraz on Cannery Row the first day we were there. You can also cross the Golden Gate Bridge and go to Muir Woods. I'm sure there are lots of other sites I haven't seen. I always check the internet before going on a trip and find out what all the attractions are and try to see something new each time. I hope you have a great time and take lots of pictures. There are lots of differnet tours you can take.

Oh yes, I think we will love to see the sea lions at Pier 39. I want to walk around the headlands, too. I don't even want to go to Alcatraz, the kids do. My heart won't break if we can't get tickets ;-)

If you're into literature, poetry, books, or beatniks, definitely check out City Lights Bookstore. It's not the usual bookstore but more of a haven for outcasts and rebels. It was founded in the 50's as a hangout for the beat poets (like Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg), so it's a legendary landmark now and a lot of fun. If you want to know more before you go, check out: http://www.weblo.com/property/Books_Magazines_Library/City_Lights_Bookstore/476207
