Sad Tidings

First off, let me apologise for my abscence today. I received some sad news last night and today I took my cat Banjo to be desexed. I'm keeping a watchful eye on him. It was a 50 minute journey in the car and he cried all the way. He was still pretty dopey for the return journey so that was a bit better. Last night, my older sister rang to tell me her eldest boy took his life earlier in the day. He had rung me last November and for some reason chose to confide in me over a long phone conversation. He then travelled to visit me and we spent the day discussing his situation. He was deeply troubled. We became very close as a result and I thought we covered a lot of ground and that he left to return home in a more positive frame of mind. I was surprised when he didn't act on what we had discussed but left it at that. How I wish now I had followed up on our talks. I'm very sad and finding it hard to focus and concentrate. I'll need to travel 800klms to the funeral and I also had planned to visit my Dad; there's talk that it may be me who is to tell him about his cherished eldest grandson because I'm living closest to him. I don't know how I'll handle that. I promise I'll do my best to catch up when I can because I truly want to. I'll be relying on feedback from my dear friends here to get me through this. We've shared so much already and I know I'll get the love, prayers and support from you all that I so desperately need at this time. I've been talking to family members for the first time in quite a while. This sort of tradgedy changes the perspective of one's life dramatically. I'm still coming to terms with it all and don't know when I'll be able to make sense of it and come out the other side. Meeting up with the family may be difficult under the circumstances. Thank you.
