We currently ban about 8000 accounts every week for trying this sort of cheating, and for a long time that kept things under control. Hip Hip Hooray for Runescape!
How do you feel about that?

8000 ppl per week? i think not.. lets do the math shall we?
if you average 8k ppl every week times 52 week in a year that comes out to 416 thousand accounts a year. there are only about 150 thousand accounts playing at any given time *just an average so dont kill me if im off a little*. that means that there would have to be at least 500-600 thousand accounts all together... meaning that there would have to be people making accounts ALL THE TIME... and i doubt that
aside from that..they also have said something along the lines of 10,000 people per day before.. which is even more extreme..that means banning a little over 3.5 million accounts yearly... the fact is, there just are NOT that many cheaters out there... thats like half the population of the united states right there... and if their banning numbers were accurate, you could walk up to a yew tree and there would be NO lvl 3 noobs autoing it down every 4 seconds.

I do agree that they are trying their best though...but why lie to us? its obvious that they are trying..but tis not helping whole lot.. and the program they have to detect people autoing?? why wouldnt they tell us about it more specifically?... the only real way to detect if they have auto programs is to install stuff on the computer to scan for them... which i highly doubt comes from the client

Ugh. As long as they keep making bots, there's going to be a constant problem.
I think Runescape needs more security implemented, maybe in the next release.

It takes two hours from when the name is randomly genatored using a autoing application to when it can cut yew logs. Their impossible to stop, when it gets banned, it makes another account, it wont do anything, they transfger their goods once they get to 1,000. Their making around £1,000 a week?
Im talking about real farmers, who are autoing at mass, 10-200 accounts at once.

there is one thing you must remember about cheaters in every single game..that they are the ones that make the game work. sad but true. in runescape jagex has been known to be lenient to a small number of botters because they supply the rest of the game with raw suplies (who else would cut 500k yew logs or mine 800k coal tat gets used up per day.however, lately thers has been a massive increase of the botters and i just checked the forum for average prices and the massive increase of botters supplying raw materials means cheaper matreials. when i was still playing yews were average 320ea, even 350ea if you had bulk. now i see people sellin bulk for a mere 270ea. yes botters make the game run but now the balance is disrupted by the increase o botters and decrease of legit players(non cheaters). this will seriously ruin the game's economy so jagex's reaction to ban the 8000 account like u said was a pretty good idea.
