I am unsure if it is allowed. But I have seen people in the past ask the same questions as others. They seem to reword them a little and add other things to the topic. I have also seen people ask the same questions just under a different interest group. Good Luck!

I been a culprit of this too. The questions are similar and the wording are different because I did not copy it. It's hard to avoid it because of so many members. Unless myLot check the questions/discussion before you sent it and let you know that a similar questions have been asked, mostlikey you will not post it anymore and prevent similar questions being asked again. It is ok as long as you did not copy it. The mylot members usually report it if they see you copied a certain discussion. The good thing about similar question is you get a different number of response each time.

I have done it sometimes, unintentionally, but there are so many here in myLot, it is impossible for all to see all discussions so sometimes it could be good if several persons ask the same things but maybe with different words. We will still get answers from different people..

Hi kevsgirlalways, I think it is okay and allowed as well to ask the same questions that someone has been asked before here for we are asking in the other way and not copy and paste the same question here. What’s more the content under the same question is totally different. I had read the answer that given by Crash before to the similar question as you are asking here that, same question can be asked as long as both the question and the description is not a fraud or a scam.
posting and take care.

it's okay.sometimes i think the 'search' function doesn't work, coz maybe we have the similar topic, but don't have the same keyword,so how can we know others' topics are similiar.and, even similar topics have differences,at least we have different responders lol.so for me,before i post a topic,i will search it first, but sometimes i just think it is too complicated to do that...so i post directly.

That is so true about the search function. Often I will search for tags that I think will identify a discussion and find nothing, but later just by searching by through the pages, I will find that there is a similar discussion already posted several weeks before, but with much different tags.
It's so hard to avoid reposting something at times. Most times it's not done on purpose. If you feel like you want to repost a similar topic, why not wait a week or two so as not to conflict with the other discussion. And, then make a special effort to add a new twist or slant to the topic.
Sometimes just adding your own opinion about the question or topic will be enough to change the discussion into your own so that others cannot claim you have copied them. Best of luck with your future posts. Look forward to seeing what else you have to say.

I think it is okay to ask questions that are asked before if you are not asking it purposely. I think we all make mistakes of asking same question that were asked before. I had also made the mistake of asking the same question that was asked before. As per rules, we are not to ask the same questions that were asked.

Yes, I think there is no problem in that. Because I have seen ....others posting the same questions, which I posted and receiving different replies. If the same quetion is asked, the member who would see that particular question would be different every time...every one has normally got its own group of friends to reply...so you get different answers for the same questions....from different set of members.

It's no big deal. Just post
what you want and it will be fine.
There are lots of accidental double
postings going on lately.
It's no big deal at all.
They're just worried about times
when other people simply copy/paste
another member's discussions and
pass it off as their own.
Hope that info helps.
Be well!

When you go to the tab 'My lot' on the top of the home page, it says we should go throught he previous discussion created on the topic, before starting a discussion. I feel it is ok to start a discussion on the same topic a long time after the previous discussion on the same topic.

There are so many people on mylot that the same question will be asked over and over again.
I think it's fine as you will probably get different responses then the others who posted.

I think it should be okay. After all how many different discussions can we actually come up with? We're bound to ask the same things after a while. Plus we all have our own unique way of stating the question. Does that make sense. Oh well, I don't see anything wrong with asking the same questions with a new twist.

its actually not allowed to post the same discussion. but the loophole there would be, it would be okay to post the same topic as long as your wording is different and the title is different. i have some discussions that i posted without searching for related discussions and i saw the related discussions and i saw that my title and the details of my discussions were totally different from them. and my discussions were not deleted. ^__^
and sometimes, there are new members who haven't seen those old discussions and they would stumble upon the new ones only. so i guess its okay. ^__^

I think that it is ok because we have no idea about those topics. Even if we know that, we can still start the same discussion from a different angle to make it more meaningful. What do you think? So do not worry about about the same discussion that you will start. Feel free for that. Happy posting.
