Support if you want to be supported too. To choose somebody as friend here means to stimulate his participation in your discussions and to check theirs too.
Rate for them. The positive vote is your way to show them your approval. To say "Thank you for your attention"
If a friend`s discussion inspires you about new discussion- never forget to add the link of his discussion.This is honest and it will help your friend to have some more answers.

I have never requested to a MyLot friend to answer to my discussions and never a friend have requested to do it to me. It is natural if friends give a little help, but without obligation... all free... if not, what kind of friendship should be?

Oh...dont understand me wrong, this is not something as manifest for support:-P And i need no answers just because somebody is obligated to do it. Never do it. Just made this discussion as reminder. Because i saw a lot of people to complaint that they never see their friends to join them.
And i saw another ones who ask what are the friends in this site about.
I just tried to synthezise some recomendations- feel free to ignore or to argue:-)-)

No Magica, no problems... be happy... I only told this because here a lot of people are making many friends only for requesting to answer each other discussions. I simply think that adding a friend is a free choose and that is natural sometimes answer to their discussions. I understood you have not requested it! OK?...
