Saying "Oh my God"

I was wondering, does it offend anyone if people say 'Oh my God' around them? Like if they're religious? Because my dad told me today that I say it quite a lot, and I hadn't even realized how much. I'm not religious so I don't know how other people react to it, but could I be offending my friends say, if I keep saying it around them?

Its not a problem for me to say Oh my God..Its still our own God.Its okay to say it,but for you,i think since you are not religious, your dad might feel offended because you say that as if you have your own God that you have served religiously! But,actually, its okay for you to say that in front of your friends.

I wouldn't say that I am overly religious but I can tell you that it drives me nuts. I am sure it was the way I was brought up. My girls have a response when someone says it they say "He is my God too." It really makes people aware of when they are doing it because I know most people do not even realize they are. I wouldn't stop being friends with someone that did it but I will admit that my hair stands on end when they do.

It is indeed offensive to many people. Many people think that when you say it, you are taking God's name in vain and that is offensive to them. On television, many shows prohibit hosts and guests from using God's name and usually they replace it with "oh my gosh".
