Help! Hair Disaster!

Ok, so I'm being a wee bit melodramatic, it's not really a disaster but I am very disappointed. I bought hair dye the other day at the drug store, thinking I'd give my hair a little updating before summer. I dyed it on Saturday morning, liked it initially once it was drying and now I hate it! It's a golden brown (I'm naturally medium brown) and my hair up until now has always been dyed a darker brown (almost a chestnut) which I loved, but it makes me look washed out . I want my dark hair back! How long should I wait before I dye it again? Can I do it right away? I know there is a procedure you can have done at a salon, but I can't afford that right now.

I have had a similar experience and I consulted a good friend who is a beautician. She told me that if I could wait about a week before I colored it darker I would be okay, as long as the product I used was not bogged down with ammonia and heavier chemicals. I understand about not being able to make it to the salon, but if you are wanting to add a little pop to your darker hair you could think about adding a little highlights. I don't mean blonde higlights or chunking, but some mild highlights of a golden brown or maybe a reddish blonde. I hope that helps. :)

You can do it right away, but you need to call the company that makes the dye you used, because if you mix certain colors you could come out with a greenish or even orangy tint. They will tell you what to use and what not to! Good Luck!

I definitely cannot do without conditioner. I must condition my hair. I've found that using the two in one shampoo's just do not do the job anymore, so I have to opt to buy a conditioner. I also have to buy a leave in conditioner that I'll spray in my hair every other night or when I feel that I need it and I only do this after my shower.
