Do you believe God does you small favors?

I read a post earlier basically indicating that a woman could not open a drawer and prayed G-d and received an answer to command it open in Jesus's name and it didn't work then G-d told her to try one more time and it did.
Everyone congratulated her on her power of prayer...how do we know it just didn't finally dislodge and open?
Do you believe it works this way?
I found this funny and interesting.

Since God can do ALL things and more than we can ask or imagine, I think God can take care of anything whether great or small. I think the whole drawer idea is an exaggerated example. We can pray to God about anything, no matter how "stupid" it may seem. Of course God may not answer that prayer the way we want. I think it's just saying, pray to God like you would talk to a friend. Perhaps if someone else was around, the woman would have asked them for help.
God works in amazing ways. Maybe he did open the drawer or maybe she just worked on it hard enough for it to open. I do believe in providence and I have seen God work in my life, big and small. The point of the matter is, don't be afraid to pray about things. God wants you to come to Him with everything. It doesn't mean that if you pray for the line at the grocery store to be short it will happen, but God answers all prayers in many different ways.

He may not directly do it for you but he does indirectly and he helps in a lot of situations. I think prayer is more than meditation. If you believe in God, then you should believe that prayer is powerful. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Luke 11:9. It's all about having faith that God will answer your prayers.

My God is not a pauper to give small favors. He has given himself (thru Jesus Christ) what else can God withhold from us.He has already given what I actually deserve. The great peace that attends my way is more than enough.

I'm always ammused by people who claim to have a special hot line to God. I mean, God is all knowing, all powerful and I've been told is interested in every small detail. However, doesn't it say alot about you that you actually need to invoke God to do something as simple as opening your own drawer.
Humans have spent the last two millenium trying to pass all their responsibility onto God. On the small scale, its quite silly. My ex-wife claimed that Jesus gave her cookies and filled up her ATM when she asked him to. On the national scale, it become tragic. You get the likes of Osama thinking he's got a hotline to God when he bombs people. You have the Israeli government thinking they're God's children when they bomb Lebanon and so on. When that happens, that's not silly, its plain stupid and tragic.
By all means, talk to God. He is wonderful and rewards those who follow his path. But lets not confuse devotion and the power of prayer with the inability to think like an adult human being

Tigertang,
VERY good response. I also thought it was a little strange to USE a god as a personal servant. I find it self serving and little odd that people think G-d is there to serve us. Or Jesus in any capacity at all (mainly because I do not believe he was prophet or a god). Thanks for the thoughtful answer.

I can't really comment on someone else's relationship with God, but I do believe He has done many things for me, great and small. Sometimes, I feel silly praying to ask for something that must seem to trivial to almighty God, but He has shown me that I am not insignificant. It is a wondrous feeling to know that God cares about the little things in your life. Sometimes, it's those small things that make for big faith.

I don't know about this story, i never compare God with Jesus, i believe Jesus was a prophet, and a normal human being only, I respect him, a lot, like my prophet, but i never take or ask help from Jesus or my Prophet, as i believe they can not help us, It is only God who can help us, God has helped me so many times, that i is impossible to count those favors of God on or for me. Ask help from creator, who created Jesus and my prophet, God can do any thing

Jesus claimed himself God, then either He is God himself or is HE a liar?
