What attracts you to watch an anime show/movie?

Well the art isn't the biggest factor for me. It needs a good storyline, or at least enough of one to make me wonder what happens next. That and characters I prefer a show to have at least one i can identify with on some level.

the graphics attracts me, I like it to be more soft and more calm.. When it is action I don't like it. I like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece but when I watch a movie I read the story line first and then check the graphics If they are interesting enough.. Some of the anime movies I like : 1. Kiki's Delivery Service 2. Ponyo on the Cliff 3. My neighbor Totoro 4. Spirited Away 5. The Cat Returns 6. Oseam 7. Yobi, the five tailed fox ( I guess) These are the type of movies and drawings Im looking for. I am currently looking for movies like these right now. Hope there's still more out there.

the story-line and the special effects

Basically I'm in it because the plots are far more detailed than anything the western cartoonists have cared to conjure up. In anime there tends to be a whole lot of back story that is sometimes and sometimes not revealed to you. The characters are also interessting and the whole cast of them ranges significantly. These two things really draw me into the anime/manga genre

Yes, the graphic is important. But the most important is the plot story.

I also agree with the graphics but i also get attracted to anime which is popular and has a good story line, good ideas and cute girls!!

I agree that the graphics draw me in. I also need to enjoy the characters. I like plotlines that are engaging, but humorous too. I watch Naruto and I'm a Dragonball Z fan.
