i asked earlier a good amount for spending but what are some tips for lowering the price. I live paycheck to paycheck, have no family support financially and i'll have to get a loan.

INstead of having a wedding cake.... Cook off some batches of fairy cakes and decorate each one with the letters in your names and have enough for each guest. You can arrange them on glass tiers and it can look actually lovlier than a wedding cake. Ask the guests to bring a dish for the buffet afterwards and tell the guests that you will repay them with a brilliant buffet on your 25th wedding anniversary. We are going to be catering for a 25th anniversary in a few weeks were this is being done. Instead of flower arrangement on the table just have a nice slim vase with one nice flower in it. This can be alot nicer and cheaper than the big arrangements. Ask people for help.....if someone you know has a gorgeous garden ask them to make you a wedding bouquet as your present. This is somehting that a neighbour or friend with a lovely garden they take great pride in would love to do for someone. What dress size are you? In the UK here there is a radio show by Chris Evans that has a dress which was donated and they loan it out to people for no charge for weddings. It was one of the guests that donated it. Good luck pulling the wedding together.

Make sure you write out your invitations yourself as people muchly appreciate that kind of thing. Instead of presents ask people to donate money to you. I am sure people would be more than happy to stuff money in a card instead of trawling round the shops to buy you stuff that you don't desperately need. If you are having a reception then ask someone to load music on to an iPod and just connect that up to the sound system. Try and ask someone who is good at that kind of thing though as you don't want your music to dive. For favours (if you do them over there) you can either make up your own with little chocolates or you can make small hand written scrolls commenarating the day of your wedding. Anything that is really putting the pressure on you that we can try adn help out.

more good ideas, thanks :) how do you go about asking people to send money instead of gifts? i dont' want to do it in a rude way but i have a way of sticking my foot in my mouth when it comes to those kinds of things.
