When you're not?? I've been asked twice in my life. Granted, both times it was the dead of winter and I was at my gluttonous, lazy best during the cold months, but, I DID NOT look pregnant! The first was a young guy who was waiting for me to process his loan application. He was just making small talk and then he asked when I was 'due'. "Due for what?", I responded. "Oh, sorry are you pregnant?", he asked. No was my reply and that ended the small talk. I stopped slouching and finished his application as fast as I could. The second was a little old lady who I was helping at the bank. She was blabbering on about something or another that's wrong in the world today and she said, "I don't envy people like you, dear, bringing more kids into the world". I thought she was just generalizing until she asked when my 'little one was due to make his appearance'. I'm not pregnant was all I could say. That drives me nuts! Just another great reason not to assume!

Yep, once when I was very young a coworker asked me if thee was a bun in the oven. How embarrassing! I wasn't fat, back then! I was skinny, and had put on a tiny bit of weight! I thought he was a little silly to ask. Nowadays, I don't get that question. Perhaps it's that I'm old enough for people not to ask. Either way, I'm still not fat. I just have fibroids and lazy tummy muscles. I wonder if that is a constant problem to women who have larger fibroids? Sometimes it does look like pregnancy. And the next time someone who I don't know asks me a question like that, I'm going to say, "Yes! And I need help to feed the baby! Care to contibute a few bucks?!" Heh hee hee. :)

It has happened to me many times my dear! It used to annoy me but now I don't really care... The first time it happened it was in the subway in Greece where a young man gave me his seat in the wagon! To be honest to you I would have taken that seat if I wasn't so surprised by his action... the worst is when it happens in front of people that you know, like friends and relatives etc because they start telling me it's time to loose some weight blablabla... Lately I've been asked the same question more than once in the same party probably because of the dress I was wearing! That really annoyed me... I think it's time to loose some weight after all!

When I worked in a department store a little old lady asked when my baby was due. I told her my baby was two years old, and she kept going on about it. You'd think she'd at least be embarrassed, but she wasn't. Now I just say, I'm not pregnant - I'm just fat.

That's kind of rude, for someone to assume you're pregnant. I used to be so skinny, that my pregnancies didn't show until I was pretty far along, and there could be no doubt then. I used to hate it though, when we'd be dining out and I would hear someone whispering "look, she's eating for two". People can be so ignorant.
