I guess I didn't realize that some words are not acceptable in a myLot post. I was answering a discussion about weddings and used the word li**or and had my response bounce on me. I changed that word to alcohol and it went through! I'm glad myLot has some standards about what they accept. I wonder what other words are not allowed?

Yes, since there are minors who use this site I guess MyLot does have to monitor what are acceptable words..and yet, other words go through without any problem...but the silliest was a discussion over a recipe for garlic chicken...and a certain cut of the chicken was mentioned and it was considered Mature content and I just had to laugh about that.

It does get kind of funny when you think about some of them.

Well, I know liqo*r, is a word they ban, but I also know of others. Almost every profanity word is banned as well. That is why you put a star for a letter.

I had the same experience with the exact same word too. I live in a city called C00n Rapids. I have to use the "zero" key for the "O" or it gets censored as well. Go figure my city is now censored on mylot.

Wow I never knew this, mylot is starting to seem more and more restricting lately. It would be handy if they had a list of these words that we cannot use.

Yes, it would be handy. This is the first time I've had one rejected, so I guess I have avoided most of the others.

I am glad that they scan through them and make sure that nothing disgusting goes throught, but sometimes I feel as though I am buying a CD from Wal-mart and all the good songs on the cd sound like Disney songs...
I wish they had a list of words not to use so that we wouldnt waste our time and theirs writing a post that is going to be bounced..I wonder if they could do that?

Good idea. I'm surprised they don't have a list somewhere.

I found out today that the word a$$ is a no-no. That surprised me since I don't really consider it profanity. But the more surprising thing was that the person who had started the discussion had that word typed out and I couldn't post my reply with the same word. Weird huh?

Yes. that is weird. Notice if they had it all in caps or with spaces in between the letters. Sometimes words get through if they are typed differently from what the computer is programmed for.
