Do you do others dishes?

If you're over at a friends house and they have prepared food for you, do you offer to do/help with the dishes? I have a friend that always cooks with me at my house and he never even offers to help do the dishes. It's working my last nerve. Another thing that works my nerve is when someone offers and I decline -- yet they go ahead and do it anyway. Anyone else out there touchy about dishes?

It is manners to go to someone's home and help to set up, and to clean up. That is my opinion. I always help. If they say no, I will help anyway, but not get in their way. As they too, are being polite.

I would be upset as well if someone was eating at my house all the time and couldn't even offer to help . It is the least he could do since you prepared the supper .
I am not touchy if I tell someone not to bother helping and they do as I usually tell them no because I don't want them to think it was expected of them but if they still do it anyway then I am always grateful feeling for their help and say thank you and it doesn't bother me as I take the gesture how it was intened . But I am picky about others washing my clothes if I tell them not too lol . I guess we all have our touchy area's when it comes to what we want help for .
