Do you think that global warming can be really stopped?

I an really worried about this global warming effect that seems to get worse, I read many articles about this and everyone says that if this is not stopped we are going to be a planet close to extintion, some effects might be irreversible like increasing water level, deforestation, worse tornados affectingthe caribbean and southern USA, snow dissapeating from high mountains . I think that if this is not correctednow, later would be very difficult to do and damage would be done to the whole planet, but I am not optimistic that the american goverment in particular would do much about this ´cause these big transnational companies are not willing to help and stop making a lot of bucks contaminating everything Are you optimistic about these situation or not so much like me?

I do not really know if it can be stopped completely, but I do think it can be slowed down considerably. The key to slowing global warming down is to get most of the world population involved. If only small sects care about it, I do not think it will matter very much. This is one area that I think today's youth are much better about than current adults. They are more aware and they can see how it will impact them in years to come.

Probably the next generation wiill be the ones that will save our planet, not the old people that just won´t stop doing what they always did, contaminating and not caring for our environment.
