Will you still respond?

You see a discussion that you'd like to answer. You go to it and as you scroll down, you notice a best response has already been chosen. Will you still respond to the discussion?
I will still reply. Sure it is nice getting marked as the best response but if I feel like I have something to contribute, I'm going to say it. The best response already being marked has no affect on whether I will answer the discussion. What about you?

yes of course for me it doesn't matter who will be marked as best response,it's the comment that matters, because once somebody responded on your comment that's a point that counts, even best response is better but that's just the way it is, you need to give effort and try so you canbe marked as best response.

I will usually still respond, even if the BR has already been given. Don't get me wrong, I like being picked for the best response, but since it apparently doesn't affect our earnings, it isn't a real big deal to me.
Now, if I notice that the last response to the discussion is very old (more than a month) I might not respond since the discussion isn't generating much interest(but I still might, too).

I still respond if I feel the need to. I figure they cared at some point, so why not. I know I do not mind getting responses much later. =)

I too will answer. If I have something to say I feel like its good to still answer, not only is it still fun, but you still show that you are on here to post, not to just try and get best responses.

if i feel i have something to contribute on the topic, yes, i will respond. i have done that many times already. being chosen as best response is indeed a good thing but it is not my main concern in joining or responding to a discussion.

I will still respond to the question.discussion. I believe that each one of us here have different views/opinion, so, I better try to post my comment as well most especially if I really like the discussion, even if it doesn't make it to best answer, I am still happy for the idea I was able to share here...

Why would I not respond? A discussion is still a discussion and still worth a rating. If I have something to contribute to the discussion...then yes, I will still respond. Even if the discussion is 6 months old and has been dormant for a long time and I stumble upon it going through friends old discussions...I will still respond. :)
Besides...at this point...none of the best responses I have been selecting is sticking. I select best response and either the next day or a couple days later...it is back.
I guess another myLot glitch.

I definitely agree that we should response as long as we have something to say. Best responses aren't everything. Sometimes I think people just randomly pick one.lol Their best response choice doesn't seem like it would be the best answer. Not just from my opinion, but others as well. If I cannot pick one, I leave it alone for a bit and go back to it.
I too respond to discussions even if it's relatively old. I figure they cared at one point about the responses. =)

I will answer it anyway. I don't care who really has the best response as long as I can tell my opinion too. I like communicating with others. lol

Sure I would still respond. I think I would like to get best response but its not all that important. But I do read other peoples responses and I see the same thing that I was going to say, I might not respond. It would seem pointless to respond to a discussion and give the same answer that others have given. Take care!!

Yes, I will respond to the post if I feel the post has a topic/question/issue on something that I'm knowledgeable of. If a response is already marked best response, I'll still post because I feel as if I can help someone out on the community, then I'll write what I know or what I think about the topic.

I never notice the best-response thingy. I just reply if the discussion really got to me. And even if I do, I hardly think it matters. If you have something good to say, then please do so. It might be interesting for others, or you might put in a new thing or two. You'll be relieving yourself the desire to express your opinion and likewise benefiting others who would later read the discussion. And I think most of the chosen best-responses are those that confirm to the idea of the discusion starter. It would be nice if you can offer a new way of looking at the matter.

Very well said. Even if they mark a best response it does not mean they do not value the opinion of others.

hay there
according to me if some one declares that some response is the best response, it does not mean the best it is always better beacuse who knows the best is still to come hence i will go with your opinion and will still post a response even if the best response is already chosen. every one has a different view of life and challenges so deal with it and go on.

You are definitely right. Just because one was picked does not mean there are others out there that are not better. Most people will still value the responses regardless!

Usually I will respond if I have something to really say on the discussion; either something to add or disbute for example. Now I might not answer one that has chosen best response if it is an older discussion, several weeks or months old, or if it was a very particular problem and the best response given is similar to what I would have said anyways. Other then that though I still respond. Getting best response can be nice but lets face it I could respond to a hundren brand new discussions and not get best response on them so why make it a big deal?

I will still respond also because if I have something to contribute, then I'm going to contribute. Getting the best response isn't my goal, but expressing my opinion is my primary goal. Sure, it's nice to get the best response, but it's not the number one priority.
