New and confused

Hi, I've only been here 3 days, so first I should probably introduce myself. I'm Jan from Illinois, I have two cats, Skitzy and Cole. Ok that's enough about me. lol Now I've seen that I can post a link to my web site in my profile page, but I don't yet have a web site or a blog. I admit I'm kind of a dinosaur about a lot of stuff. I'm newly starting at writing articles for Helium, and will probably start trying to write in other places as well. Can I, for example write an article, or start a discussion in myLot as to why I write for Helium, and post the link that would also direct people here to read my Helium articles? Obviously my hope is that some people might read a few articles I've written for Helium, thus helping me to increase my rather sad and pathetic earnings so maybe I could actually buy a candy bar someday. But this seems like a conflict of interest to me? And I don't want to violate the TOS here at myLot. I've read that and the guidelines here, and it still isn't real clear to me, just what kind of links are ok to post here and which ones aren't ok. I've seen some people include links in their posts, but read other peoples posts in myLot who seemed to say it isn't ok to include links, so I'm confused about the policy here. Any help and clarification about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
