I'm starting this post with a big sigh, i have been thinking, contemplating, wanting to quit my current job. The main reason is that I am not happy here anymore and waking up every morning to go to office is becoming harder and harder for me now adays,Nothing motivates me anymore not even the monetary benefits I get..I really do not know why I am still here.
You might then ask what's keeping me here? why not write that resignation and submit it immediately..well, a part of me is afraid oof not having a day job..just a part of me,althougfh I am confident that I can survive.
Another reason is that a bit of guilt in my part for leaving my boss which has been so kind to me..who has given me a lot of privileges just because I work for him.
but then again..i still want to leave and try another phase of my existence here on earth..
sorry..just want to let it out.

After going through your thoughts, I was just thinking about myself. Have you described me in the above sentences. I own a small plantation, the income from that is more than the income from my current job. My wife is insisting that I should leave the job and go back to the plantation. When in an era when every is quitting agriculture, i am really confused.

I highly recommend you find another job first and then quit. Take a vacation between this job and starting your new one. However, you should just go ahead and quit if you have good education and experience in a certain field that you would like to pursue with a different company. Then you should quit, take a vacation, and then 'work' fulltime on finding a new job. With the right background it is not hard to find a job. It depends if you are a new graduate or an experienced person. It also depends if you can afford to not have any income for a month or so till you are back on your feet again with a new job. Good luck to you either way

Are you financially stable enough to not work for a while? If not, you should find other employment that you like doing. Being happy in your job is most important. All of the privliges and money in the world doesn't matter if you are not happy with your job. My last job became unbearable. I had worked there for many years and at one time really enjoyed my work. When I found myself taking more and more time to get out of bed and ready myself for work, I knew it was time for a change.

Hi cefaz in my opinion I wouldnt quit my job unless I had something to fall back on. I felt the same as you when I was working at this one job. But I continue on and then one day a girl quit and my job became bearable again. I still wasnt happy with my pay but it was a great place to work. This girl would make it not a very nice place to be for me, so what im trying to say is you never know whats going to happen dont give it up yet. Hang in there. I hope Ive been some help to you.

quitting your job this time may not be a practical step. bear in mind that there are countless people who have no jobs these days. you will find it difficult to find a new one. be content for a while until you can scout for a better one.

Before quitting, think twice, better to find another job and get appointment letter, and leave the present job.I have done many such things, and suffered a lot.So think and leap

do not quit your job, unless you found a new one okey?
it is hard to find good job nowadays, millions of newly grads are looking forjobs.
i think you need to relax, enjoy and smell the flowers.
why don't you ask for a week vacation? so that you will be able to unwind and have fun away from work, i think it would help you.
goodluck,
you know i feel like quitting my job too, but i have second thought about it. i am planning to have a vacation to unwind with my baby.and go back to work again.
dear we have to work to live...

Why dont you talk to your boss and let him know you are frustrated. Maybe he can give you some other work duties or utilize your potential in another aspect of the job. If you are still dissatisfied, then you should just quit. After all, life is too short to be doing something you dont want to do - im actually talking frome xperience coz im quitting my job this week too.

i agree with krislouiebaby.
do not quit unless you've found another job you like unless, of course, you can afford it. maybe a vacation will do the trick.
but if you really find yourself dreading going to work and just complaining about everything, i think it would be best to leave. it doesn't only affect you, it affects the company/organization as well.
goodluck! i hope everything works out for you.

Can i ask you why arent you happy anymore in your current job?
If you are not happy in your job, that means you have to move on because if we arent happy in what we do, we tend to be pressured and stressed and that isnt good in our health.
Being happy in everything is what we seek for, and if you dont find happiness in your current job now there's no other recourse but to seek your happiness outside.
Submit applications to other companies now, and when you are about to find the one you are happy about, resign

I think even I'm little confused. Why don't you give little time to yourself. Try to seek new job in extra time. Don't just give up the job as you don't like. I'm also working with my dad and hate my place a lot. I don't want to work with him but somehow I'm managing it and trying my best to find any new business or job which I can do. Quitting is no solution unless you have other opportunities in your hand.

I know what you are talking about well i have gone through the same thing time and time again. If you are not happy there i would have to give it alot of serious thought. I was not happy in the job i was at and stayed to the point that the unhappiness flowed over into the rest of my life and i got quite depressed. Dont leave it to long to decide ok.

I was like you before. I was struggling to resign even though I had no satisfaction at my work just because my boss was kind of nice to me. Part of me was afraid not to get a job too. But I finally did resign, and my boss wanted me to help for 1 more year, and I agreed. I treated it as a period of saving money and returned her "kindness" to her. And after the promised date arrives, I could start my new career and try something new! The idea exists me but I know that there are many struggles during the process when one wants to resign! Take it easy and wish you good luck!

If we are not happy anymore in our job. Maybe we can try to get another job. Its like simple right? But, if we always change our job, it means we always start from the begining, and that mean, when we can finish?

You must give this a lot of thought. Finding a good job is really hard. Easier said than done. But why stay any longer on a job that you don't enjoy. My advise for you is don't quit just yet. Start looking into the classifieds, see if there are any hirings for your position. Go on interviews and get a feel of other possible opportunities. Reflect on your current situation, weigh the consequences of your actions. No matter what, don't quit your job if you have not found a new one yet. Good luck!

That's fine, let it out! I've been there, as recently as this past fall. I worked at an adult foster care home and loved everyone of the residents I cared for but as time went on the other staff, management, and the hours were killing me. I ended up leaving as scarey as it was I am glad I did it although I still miss the residents and keep them in my prayers daily.

secure a second job - so you've got one in the hand.
then tell your boss, "Boss, I love you. But I need to grow in life. I need to explore the next phase in my life. If it leads me to you, I will come back. Thanks for being such a good boss." Then quit.

If you aren't happy at your job and you can afford to be without a job for a little bit then I say- resign. I know that working at a job where you aren't happy can cause a lot of serious health problems and I believe that you must make a decision based on what is best for you.
I have been there and I almost had a heart attack due to the stress of a job and I decided when the doctor told me that the chest pain was stress and I would have an attack if I stayed there, I resigned immediately.
Right now, I am in a job that I really don't like but I have a boss that I like a lot and would like to stay working with.I am only still there as my husband is starting a new job in 2 weeks and I know that once he starts it and is there for a little bit that I will be able to stay at home.

we all know that this days its hard to find a nice job that pays good. and even if you get one you cant say that you'll become a regular employee unless you've surpass the evaluation period, and been evaluated to be a good employee then thats the only way that you'll be hired as regular employee of the company that you're working for. all i can say is that if you're planning of leaving your present job, you have to make sure that the moment you left that company you found another company that will have you employed. Its been good that your employer has treated you well and gave you the benefits that an employee deserve. But you cannot simply force your self into things that has no longer interests of you.
