Have you ever gotten stiffed by an employer?

My husband and I finally got a bonus from a previous employer today. It only took us five and half months, 14 phone calls, two forms filled out and mailed to the state of Virginia Department of Labor, a letter sent to them by certified mail, and two trips to the Internal Revenue Service Center to get what we were owed. It took us a lot of time and effort to get what we had already worked hard to earn. Has anyone else ever been stiffed and been successful at getting your money? What steps did you have to take to get it? How long did it take you? Has anyone just given up trying to get their money?
