Did any of watch the goal, which Lionel Messi scored against Getafe in the King's Cup? It was one of the best goal's I have ever seen if not the best. My jaws dropped open when I saw him running at defenders like that.
Messi took a pass from inside his own half from Xavi. He then went on a mazy individual run, going past five players at full speed and then rounding the keeper before slotting the ball in the back of the net from a tight angle.
This goal resembles Diego Maradona's goal for Argentina against England two decades ago.
What did you guys think? Is this the best goal you have seen? What were your reactions upon seeing this goal?

Messi's goal was world class. I saw the goal on youtube. To collect a pass from the half way line and run pass 5 players and score 'THAT GOAL' was magic. It is scary to think that this is someone who is 19. Imagine this player in 5 years time. He is the Maradona of the future.

There was no doubt that it was a world class goal. But i feel that Maradona's goal was much better, taking into consideration the opposition.
But by no means it was a small feat, and hats off to Messi to make us visualize Maradona in this era.

I saw that. I just think it is wierd how this goal didn't get famous. I mean, if it were Ronaldinho it would have been on ALL headlines. This goal really did resemble maradona's, except that maradona's was against a much better team haha. Not taking alway Messi's merit, he is just not cmoparable to Maradona in any way i think. Great player still, he might become the best in the world someday.

Yes, that is true. Ronaldinho would have indeed grabbed more headlines than Messi has been able to. It's a shame that the goal did not recieve much attention only because it was scored against a club as opposed to a country.
He is definitely going to be the best player in the world in the future.
