Who's smarter Spongebob or Patrick?

Is this really a no-brainer?
I mean, Patrick is admittedly without any brain while various episodes showed that Spongebob has brains although not quite stable and kinda small.
But then again, there are episodes where Patrick outwitted Spongebob and even gave advice to the latter which surprisingly or unsurprisingly was followed by the former to the letter. (Imagine the Driving Test)
So, who really is smarter?

Hi, I think Spongebob is a little bit smarter in the way of "function", but Patrick is better at things of the heart like feelings and forgiving. Thanks for asking such a cool question!

hmm.. ahmm.. neither of them xD i think its squidward! heheh xD but seriously. i cant tell who's smater of them. sometimes its spongebob sometimes its patrick. like the one episode where patrick help spongebob pass his driving test? its really confusing xD

I would have to say Spongebob for most of the time. Patrick MUST have A.D.D or something!! Although there was one show where Patrick's brain was switched and I agree on that Driving Test show that Patrick outnumbered spongebob in brain cells.

even though they seem to be both dumb and have a brain the size of a pea, i think spongebob is more intelligent than patrick because he has more sense when he's having conversations with other bikini bottom people.

Spongebob is smarter than patrick, though patrick does have his moments at times doesn't he.

I definitely thing that Sponge Bob takes the cake on the brains department. True, sometimes Patrick can be a little smart, but not as much as Sponge Bob. Plus Sponge Bob always comes up with better ideas for things, he has the better sense of humor, and he's more adorable!

I think Spongebob is the smarter one of the two. Those few moments when Patrick seems smarter appear to be "brain-glurges" that give Patrick spontanious moments of wisdom. As for the car episode, however, I have no idea where in Bikini Bottom he learned that! The truth is, it's Gary (Spongebob's pet snail) who's the smartest of them all.

Well my opinion will be based i guess on my observation...i thionk Patrick is smarter subconsciously...hehehehe though Spongebob is only very good when it comes to craby patties. hmmm what do you think?
