What do one do before studying computer science?

Sorry friends if am disturbing you. But I really want to know what one who is considering studying computer science in the university, college or any institutions out there should start doing now in order to get him or herself prepared. I mean am I need advice on what one should start doing now in order to equipt him/herself before furthering in the higher institutions. Do one start studying computer books, get closer to computer or what??
What do you think one should start doing now?? You response will be very much appreciated.

i graduated comsci 2 years ago. Well the first thing you have to consider is the university that you will be going to. You actually dont need to read book b4 that, you'll gonna learn that in school. Is it your personal choice? if you think this course is appropriate for you then go for it.

Yes studying computer science is my personal choice (thanks for that question, there are so many people out there who doesn't decide for themselves, but depends on other. am not such type). I appreciate so much for your response. Thanks and have a nice day.

first get idea about the quality of teaching from the college, if you get a good teacher you can learn it then and there, and by starting to read after the college starts. if u have a problem like i had, when i didnt know a language, i joined a private course which worked for me.
