As someone who loves trivia, it's been hard for me to stay away from the topic, but I've finally given in. Here is a collection of useless facts that are enjoyable nonetheless.
The liquid inside young coconuts can be used as a substitute for blood plasma in an emergency.
No piece of paper can be folded more than seven times
Donkeys kill more people worldwide per year than plane crashes.
The King of Hearts in a card deck is the only King without a mustache.
Venus is the only planet that rotates clockwise (since Venus is associated with the feminine aspect, what does this say?)
Most dust particles in your house are from dead skin!
Pearls melt in vinegar!
Walt Disney was afraid of MICE!
A ducks quack does not echo - and no scientist can explain why.
And the best for last - Turtles can breathe through their a$$
I know some people like that, don't you :-)

I know that feeling well.
My best response rate discussion had to do with naming one's three favorite chocolate things.
...go figure...

And did you know more people are killed by coconuts falling on them than by sharks every year? So all those selachophobes (fear of sharks) out there may want to rethink it!
The deadliest animal in Canada is the moose. It kills many more people than any other, largely due to car collisions.

Nice add! Maybe we should start an ongoing "did you know" post that everyone can add to.

Cool. I absolutely adore useless trivia facts. They always come in handy when playing Trivial Pursuit. Thanks for the info. I will have to remember that info about coconuts. That is pretty interesting. If I ever need blood plasma I will tell my hubby to get a coconut! Can you just imagine the look on the ER doctors' faces? I bet it would be priceless.

I have a whole bunch of trivia stuff, but I noticed people don't respond to them very well. I really just wanted to respond to this to get an update on your contest tryout!

Well.. I hate to burst and urban legend, but I have heard ducks quacks echos.. They just seem to be more concentrated in their sound...
But thanks for posting these.. they were neat..
and to make up for the duck urban legend..
I found a neat website with some information :) on ducks.
