Mylot sure is an excellent example of a give and take platform.
Why should we answer to discussions of those members who do not reply to ours......
Yes, there are many users who would just start discussions and expect their discussions to get replies when they hardly or never reply to the discussions started by others.
I know........ by doing this...... they are not doing something good to their own money that they would earn in here. But, should'nt people answer to discussions started by people who answer yours too.
When I was here, I used to just start my new discussions and not reply to others. But, I have changed myself and I have started getting involved in other discussions too.
We all should make this change.
After all....... Mylot is a give and take platform........ you give knowledge and take knowledge too....... thats the other way of putting it forward...... :)

I am a nice guy and simply go a lot by the discussions with no responses. Hell in a lot of cases they are more interesting anyways than the discussions reaching the top page anyways so, hehe. Now of course I can't keep up with them all. But if enough people would do that let's kick out all discussions with 0 responses like that ;).

i also give responses to those discussions which are having zero scores. that is, after having responded to those discussions that has come from my friends. the friends need me and they are counting on my support.

I agree with you guys. I have some discussion with no response and just notice someone response to it now. I appreciate it. When I started here I am usually answering to the discussion of my friend with no response. But some are really tough questions and I don't want to give just one liner or two. I also reduce posting discussion and concentrating on answering.
This is give and take so let's help each other and other. It's fun.

I have a really busy schedule, but I do try to answer any topic I feel I know something about. I may be young and I may not have some of the best answers and the best topics, but I do try, and I would appreciate answers to my topics, too!

In terms of people responding in general, you know what will attract people to your discussion vs. someone else's discussion. In terms of friends, there is a reasonable expectation that they would respond to your discussion, especially if you are responding to theirs.
I agree that it is give in take as far as friends are concerned but I suppose even with them, it is not a guarantee that even they will respond to your topics.
Topics are repetitive on here anyway, so don't take it personal if you don't get the volume of responses you want. Just keep posting....

Becasue of a number of reasons I don't always see posts that friends have made etc. I post in discussion that I feel I have something to add that is helpful, otherwise I don't say anything.
I would much rather someone come into one of my discussions and add something if it adds value to the discussion. Leaving a one or 2 line reply isn't something I normally do. Lately i have started a few discussions that no one on my friends list apperantly found any value in because no one responded to them. That's fine I have no problems with that at all.
I don't expect that anyone respond to any of my discussions, and i would hope that noone expects me to respond to theirs either.

I respond to my friends discussions if they are on a eopic I know smething about or have an opinion on, otherwise i leave it alone because it is not right to respond with one line saying you don't know.

For the most part I haven't had many problems with a give and take relationship with people here on mylot. That's the good thing about making friends with people of the same common interests of your own. They are more likely to respond to your discussions. I try to respond to all of my friends discussions if I have something good to contribute. But there are some days when I don't have much time on here so I don't always get around to responding to everyone. Like yesterday when I got online I had over 200 messages in my email box. That's a lot of email to sort through and most of them were from mylot. So I didn't get to respond to a lot of them yesterday since I spent a majority of my time online just sorting through my email. But when I don't get around to responding to discussions right away I'll always try to at least respond later. It may take me a while but I'll eventually get to it.

Yes but the object of the game is to add to the discussion, by giving you opinion, thoughts and or feelings on the subject, I only answer that I am interested in or have in common, or for that matter totally disagree with. That is how I choose from my friends in mylot, I would say that 90% of the friends I have approved do not answer my questions, but I do not blame them, I just have not found any thing that they wish to answer. I do not expect anyone to answer, But I am very delighted when they do.

If a topic catches my eye that i can comment on or be helpful towards i will make sure i give a response that answers all the questions put forward by the topic creator. Also, if i create a topic with a question or that wants people to express their opinion i would like to think people would help me out because i give them my time also.
Your right, it is a give and take community and people should appreciate that we all want to help everyone with their questions.

well done kukkad! you start the ball rolling. I wouldn't answer to any discussion just for the sake of answering if am not very sure of myself on that subject. You would notice they wrote 'please be as descriptive as possible'. So whats the point of a one paragraph sentence that can't get to the point.

I agree mylot is a give and take for many members. I mostly answer discussions here on mylot and sometimes I start few discussions. I have so many friends on my list that it is impossible to answer everyone of them. What I do first is go through my discussions and go to the profile of each person (whether they are friend or not) who answered and find some of the discussions they started and give my answer. If I have time I go to the discussions that my friends started and try to answer some that are of interest to me. But I don't pay attention to who answers or not because I know most of us have a lot of friends and we can not answer all discussions started by all our friends.

Yeah, you're right. I've realized that it's all about your network. If you're an active talker in your friends' discussions, they usually pop in yours. So as to help them, you usually go talk in theirs. Totally give and take situation. And that's good, isn't it? We're helping each other to learn something and earn some money.
myLot starts to get a little educational on "how to deal with the world". =P

Yes, you are right that mylot is a give and take platform. Its nice to start your own discussions and see what others say about what you are thinking or just get opinions from other people...And at the same time, you are also able to give your opinions about certain things.

I agree to that. Being a very nice and wholesome guy, I generously reply to discussion boards. I give out my best to every reply to be selected as the best responder. I also create discussion boards for myself.
We should be nice to each other. Let's put balance to the community.

Hello, kukkad, i will be happy if my friends reply to my discussions, but i will not blame them for not doing it as they do not get any obligations to reply to me. I have a lot of friends who request me to be their friends but they did not even reply to me once,I do not mind, may be my discussions are not interesting enough to pique their interests and they get some other good discussions to reply,as long as they are happy to do so, i will be happy.

Yes you are correct.I wonder how these people get topics to start discussion.when i joined i didnt know how to start a discussion.i only knew how to respond. So i just kept responding. Now i know to start discussions. The main reason for it is that they think they'll get more meney if they get more replies. So they dont need to waste time replying.Thats the reason. Its always better to respond too.And not in one line.Give some informative post.Good Luck.
