Adbux Concerns! (warning: long post)

Up until today, I've been an active member of Adbux. I was really excited to see if it was a real site that paid it's members.
I finally reached payout on Sunday night but I was debating on whether I should cash out or wait until it was higher than $5. I decided to cash out on Monday night. Then last night (Tuesday) I went to log in and couldn't. It kept taking me back to the 'guest' page. I'm still trying to log on and it won't let me. I sent a message to the owner and have yet to have heard anything back.
I also noticed they raised the payout to $10. So I went to a forum I belong to for these types of sites to see what other people who have been doing this much longer than I have, were saying about the recent events.
First, if you haven't seen the update on Adbux - here is what it says about raising the payout to $10: (this is copied from the site)
"05/01 - I know - I know. We're behind on payments and other things... the reason for this is because of the sheer volume of users that we have. We just processed 212 payments from the past 3 days and have 140 more to go. Therefore... because of this issue - we've increased the minimum payout to $10 with a payout time of up to 3 business days. We really want to get some other features started on the site but the payouts (including auditing accounts before the payout) is causing huge delays so we think this will lift the burden.
I (personally) know that a lot of you are probably sick of clicking on the same links everyday. This will soon change when our new advertising system goes up. We feel it will attract hundreds of advertisers!
A security exploit was discovered and has been patched. Please make sure your profile information is up-to-date and we recommend that you change your password every so often and make sure that it's a hard one to guess!"
Now I want to give you a little history..
Before Adbux there was a site called Netbux. The owner (his name is Chad) basically scammed his members and left them with nothing when the site crashed and burned. He owed alot of people, alot of money that he never paid. There are ALOT of similarities between Adbux and Netbux. "Chad" said many of the same exact things that are now being said on Adbux. Same excuses and same changes taking place. So many signs that if they are in fact owned by the same person, Adbux is on it's way out the door with your hard-earned money. The owner of Adbux has been contacted and he was asked for his name - he claims his name is Tyler but no one can verify that.
I know alot of people say, oh well.. I'm not losing any money so I'm just going to keep clicking. Of course you are free to do whatever you want but you are losing your time which in my book equals money. I would much rather spend that time on a site like MyLot that actually pays for my time rather than clicking away on a site where the owner is going to pocket all of the money from the advertisers and leave me with nothing.
I went searching some more and found this interesting little blog about Adbux and Netbux. I highly urge those of you who are spending your time on Adbux to please read the blog and then decide if it's a place where you want to invest your time and energy.
adbuxtruth.blogspot.com
Good luck to all of you. Personally, I'm going to be deleting my blog entry on Adbux and I will not be referring any of my friends or family to take part in a site that I can not fully trust. Some people have been paid but the majority of the members have not and most likely won't ever see a penny from this site.
I'm curious to know if those of us who made payout over the last few days and requested it .. who are now having a hard time logging in, were in fact, deleted. It wouldn't surprise me.
I'd also ask that you read the TOS. It clearly states that they can delete your account at any time without any warning or explaning on their part. So you can work your butt off clicking only to have them delete you and never tell you anything or owe you anything.
Again, Good luck!

I joined adbux because it looked promising. I had heard others had been paid but it still seemed dubious to me. I heard of people reaching the $5 payout in a matter of days. Well that's just not possible unless you have a lot of referrals from what I've seen. If I can't make payout without referrals then I don't like that. However I continued to plug along and I heard more and more of people having trouble getting payment, of not being able to get into the site, and then of ones who requested payout only to have it denied because the next day they upped the limit. That was it. I figure at the rate things are going there even if I managed to make payout they'd just up the amount again. Not worth it to me. There are enough legitimate places out here on the web without them.

Yes there are and I thank you for your response. With so many other legit paying sites on the internet, there isn't any reason why people would continue to spend their time and energy on Adbux when so many people have had such a bad experience with them.
I'm glad you decided it wasn't worth it. You are one of the smart ones. ♥

Thank you for thinking I'm smart :) I've run into several scams and it can be disheartening. It's nice though when we find ones that are legit, like mylot for example. Adbux might not be a scam but I don't think I'm going to wait to find out. I'll say my good byes and find another one to add to my lists.

I have had enough of this site now. There were already some doubts in my mind about the concern if the site would pay or not and i have heard people saying they were not payed and its just too dodgy for me to continue even though i have not requested a payout yet. plus they raised the payout limit to $10 without telling anyone and they say they can cancel anyones account at anytime for no reason or no warning.
Im out.

Hi darkness..
I'm sorry you were also sucked into this site. I was really hoping it was one of the 'good' ones so I know the disappointment and frustration.
I had heard little rumors here and there but I seem to hear them about all sites at one point or another - so I wanted to see for myself and sure enough, it is too good to be true. Everything is just so shady concerning that site. Do you know, there is a way to look up who the owner of each site is, along with the address and phone number but this site doesn't have that information available like all of the other 'good' paying sites do!? Just one more reason not to trust them.
I think the blog I listed (that someone else wrote, not me) really gives some good examples of why that site shouldn't be trusted. I really hope everyone associated with Adbux reads it because it will open your eyes to some facts that none of us probably knew before now.
I could easily just keep promoting it if I was in it for the sake of making money at all costs but I'm not. I do not want others to feel what I am feeling right now and apparently what alot of people are feeling. It's NEVER a good spot to be in when you've been hoping and looking forward to money and then it just up and slips out of your hands and lands in the pocket of some low-life who already stole $150,000 with his first site (just like Adbux) and is now, 2 years later, out of money and ready to steal from a whole new set of people just looking to make a few dollars.
Makes me sick.
I'm glad you're out.. now we can spend more time here making REAL money!
Smile!

do you mean to say that adbux is another scam site? to think that we are considering to join the site. i had been contacting my daughter that we join the site for one week now. she is having second thoughts on it. i had been insisting that it is best that we start right away because, there are times when i do not feel good enough to be making discussions and responses here in mylot. it is good that you bring this up here. so we are cancelling the idea of joining adbux already.

Hi trinidad -
Adbux scammed me and it has also scammed alot of other people. There are some people who are still being misguided by Adbux and I'm afraid in the end, they too will be scammed.
I hope you will reconsider joining that site. I would hate for you and your daughter to spend your free time on that site wasting time and never getting paid when you could instead be here on MyLot or on another site that pays instead of trying your luck with Adbux and most likely not getting your money in the end.
No one can explain to me why when I finally made my $5 payment request, the next day I was deleted without any explanation. I wrote to the site and they aren't answering (of course) so the owner just took my $5 (and alot of other people's $5) after I spent at least a month working there. Yes, it's a SCAM - stay away is my advice.
If you want another site that is real and better than Adbux, then you should join ClixSense. Payout is at $10 and I have a check coming right now from them for $14. Alot of people have been paid from them and they are legit. The link is in my profile or you can message me and I'll send it to you.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

This is really unfortunate for everyone who put so much work into that. It does take a lot of time for some one to earn just a dollar. So I feel bad about this. Unfortunetly this happens. Should we avoid these sites all together or do you feel there are some credable sites out there.

I received a note from the owner of a downline program that I was investigating which I'll quote verbatim
"Adbux has been removed from the program list due to
- not paying out member commission requests within 24-48 hours as stated in their policy
- not paying out late member commissions even after stating several times they would
-setting membetr pay out commissions to paid when in reality they did not pay out a member
-seeking uipgrade fees when nothing is in place for the upgraded member
-collecting from Mary to pay Paul
-complaint filings to Paypal
I think that makes it pretty clear

I just joined adbux the other day, so I don't know too much about it. It does sound like maybe it got to be too much work than what they could handle.

horrormoviefan - all I can suggest is that if you decide to spend time there trying to earn some money, do not upgrade until you have been paid at least twice if at all. Just a suggestion.
Take Care and good luck!

Yes, thanx for sharing this very useful info on adbux and giving us the warning on adbux. Till now i was promoting and using adbux until i read some posts here in mylot and found out that adbux is absolutely a scam site and will definitely going to cheat its users. I have decided to stop using adbux, it is a pity that i was once again cheated by an online site!!

I really appreciate other members who tell it like it is as far as scams are concerned. I am glad I have not wasted my time there, because for me time is money, just as it is for you. We have to look out for one another. No matter how low the pay seems, the fact is that myLot pays, and it pays on time, and ahead of schedule.

I didn't know about it until I saw another discussion on it, and my mother said she had been on it as well. She said she would unsubscribe from it as well.

Adbux is not a scam, or at least not shown to be yet. I have already been paid over $100 from them. You can see the screen shots of the payments I've recieved from them and other sites at http://rtsweb.homeip.net/cash.html
