Mail processing - work from home , scam or reality ?

I was wondering if any of these work from home mailing postcards , notes letter are real.
Has anyone tried it , I just got an ad for some of them and I was wondering is it as easy as they sound , what is the catch .If you're doing it , which company is it that you joined and how can I join

*cough* scam *cough* you send them 20 bux. then you "stuff" envelopes with instructions to send 20 bux to you for information about a job stuffing envelopes.
i paid 40 bux for my scam. that was the last time.
