Or are you still with the person?
I have a friend who's about 44 years old & just in the last couple of years, she got back together with her high school sweetheart!!!
I think that's so sweet. Like a storybook ending.
Do you still communicate with the first person who stole your heart? E-mail, snail mail, phone calls, anything works here!
Or have you been able to stay with the person in a committed relationship?
I just love to hear stories about people & their First True Love.
Please share!
Thanks,
Gwen

I married my highschool sweetheart! We have 2 beautiful children and keep in contact with all of our friends, even though we don't live near any of them. Myspace is a great way of keeping in contact with them!

Aww that is so sweet! It's very rare for someone to marry their high school sweetheart...I'm glad it worked out for you!

When I was 17, I was dating a guy, we were in love and were planning to get married when I turned 18. We met at work, we both worked at Stone Mountain park Skylift, he was a "skylift guy" and I was a "snackbar girl". It just so happened that a lady that knew my parents worked out there too, she heard our news and called my mom to ask about it. My mom and dad told me that under no circumstances was I getting married at this age, to this guy. They made me break up with him and promise not to see him again, I tried to any way, but it seemed when ever we tried to get together my parents would show up, and I had to give him the cold shoulder and naturally he left for good. We were both heart broken, I know I broke his heart, but I didn't know what else to do. A few years later, I married someone else, as did he, as my 9 year marriage was coming to an end, I wrote him a letter (I had written it many times, this time I decided to mail it), that was 15 years later. I took a chance and sent the letter to his parents house, luckily they still lived there and got the letter to him. He wrote me back a few days later, I was so excited and couldn't stop shaking as I read the letter, he had been divorced for years and had a daughter, I had two children a daughter and a son. He gave me his pager number so I called and he called me right back. We talked for a few minutes, he was out with his daughter, so he called me back a few hours later and we talked for hours, two days later we were back in each others arms and have been there ever since. It's been 10 years since that day and we've been married 9 1/2 years, and have a 9 year old son. We're so happy and I'm so glad I followed my heart!

I still talk to some of my old boyfriends - but very rarely. I would never want to upset the person I was presently with. As for my first love - I have seen his myspace page - but have not made any attempt to communicate. There is no need for that... We didn't work out for a reason. I'm glad your friend had a storybook ending though - it always makes me happy to hear people living happily ever after.
