What does the star and no. mean on mylot?

Hi pals! As soon as I completed 100 posts a star with 8 written in it appeared before my login name. I have seen it with the log in names of others as well but numbers varied from say 3 to 9. What does that mean as I noticed it has nothing to do with number of postings like a person with say 345 post may have only 3 star and i already have 8 stars. Please explain the significance of these stars to me.

congratulations you got a star! Your star number is basically your reputation on mylot. The highes that you can go is a 10. That is like geeting a 100% approval, 9 is 90%, 8 is 80% etcetera. This is when you post a responce, and the people hit that + or - sign to rate your responce. Also when you post a thread make sure that you rate your responces with positive or negative, and also make sure that you choose a best responce. This is basically giving credit where credit is due, and from what I heard you will actually earn more yourself. Im not sure if that is true or not, but it takes 2 seconds so if it is true it is worth it. Good luck, and hope to see you with a 10 soon. :p
