Today, we are so used to using our cell phones. They are like an extension of who we are. I do not use my everyday, but it is like an extension of me. When did you begin using your cellphone and how many have you owned? I have been using a cellphone since 1998 when I went back to school to complete my BA in Social Science. Since then, I have only had two cellphones.

We shut our cell phnes off to save money. At first it was a hard adjustment. After the first week or so it was much easier. I think when we are back on our feet financially we will turn them back on.

Do you actually save money with your cell phone off? I always wondered about that? Who is you carrier? I have ATT/Cingular Wireless. My monthly bill is between $69.00-73-.00 for two phones on the family plan.

i feel we should not be dependent with cellphones however its the trend and its being used in business. right now i hav 2 cellphones, and going 3 coz of the additional telco brand where in we can save with unli texts and calls. according to my cuz her cellphone is her office so every transaction of her biz comes from her cell. i guess now adays we grow more dependent on super duper gadgets , and i believe there will come a time we will have even more gadgets where in we dont know the best gadget to have.

I think so. My cell phone is useless for me. I don't really need it. It's just to receive calls... And no one calls me! But maybe, if I get a new one, I might not be able to live without one. Actually, I think everyone is able to live without everything (computer, cell phone, videogame). We just think it's too hard... But it's not impossible at all.

Thats true cell phone is becoming an important device of our lives these days. And i must say it is a great invention for everyone You can reach any person at anytime whereever they are plus these days there are so much advancements in this technology i think its gr8 and i do not think now one could live without it.Well if we want we can but we have made ourselves so much dependent on it that its quite hard to live without it.i started using cell phone about 4 years ago when i got engaged and for my fiance i needed it.I change them often now as desire.right now i m using black berry pearl.

Yes, it is indeed. I wish my cell phone carrier would give me and my hubby a free phone since I have been with them since 1998. The only reason I have not left them is because I do not want to pay a $200 fee for leaving..

I know this will probably shock many people but I do not own a cellphone and do not WANT to own a cellphone. When I tell people this offline, most people seem very surprised and look at me like I'm from outer space. I think cellphones are useful for people who need to be contacted like doctors and such. They're also handy for traveling, in case of breakdown, etc. However, I don't drive and I'm not a doctor...I tell people I'm not important enough to warrant a cell phone...lol. The real reason is that I just plain don't want to be in reach all the time. I don't understand why people want to be on the phone all the time. It seems to be an age of instant access for everyone. Before you say it, I know cellphones can be turned off but honestly, how many of you who carry one actually turn it off? Everywhere I go there is someone on the phone...in the store, in the restaurant...I find it annoying to always be hearing other people's phone conversations. The worst is those "beep-beep" phones where I can usually hear BOTH sides of the conversation. I guess this turned into a bit of a rant, didn't it? Does anyone out there get what I'm trying to say?

I would be lost without my cell phone! My last one, I accidently dropped in a toilet and decided to see if it would flush. (Drunken moment.) I didn't realize that my life was in that phone until I didn't have it. My sim finally dried out. Thank god! But, until it did I had no way to contact anyone, even family!

First off, congrats on earning your star! You'll be at a 10 rating in no time. Now, for the cell phone. I have one because I'm constantly on the go. My hubby has one because he works for a wireless company. Our 11 year old daughter has one because she's out with her friends all the time...so, yeah, I don't think I could live without it. Not only does my cell phone work for communicating, it's a handy voice recorder, picture and videos, GPS, internet, chat and makes great Julien fries!

Oh thank you!! I am so happy!! Wow, that is an all on one device you have. Mine just has internet access, no camera or nothing fancy. In fact, I turned it off last night since I rarely get calls anymore. I do not work outside my home anymore (TWINS) and I a not in school anymore...so, the need for me on my part is not really necessary. But, my hubby does use his all the time for work (real estate).

I dont use my cellphone so much. My bill is usually about 10 euros/month, but I couldn't live without it. There are people who I couldn't take any contact without.

I can't remember my life without a cellphone. Okay, I can, just a bit. But now, I can't live without it. I got my first phone when I was 13, that's in the year 2000. I think I've had 11 phones after that. Some I just traded with my brother, one got stolen, two got lost, most of them are gifts. If nobody gives me a new phone, or if they weren't stolen or had not gotten lost, I would be holding the same phone I'd gotten the first time. I'm not willing to spend a fortune just to get the latest models. Whatever works is fine. Of course I also don't want to get stuck with a black-and-white phone, so I would update to the colored one. That's about it. I feel lost without my phone. It's like no one's gonna be able to reach me if I don't have it. Sometimes I forget to bring my phone to school, and I just get restless the whole day.

I can not even think of such a situation now. Now a days I am so addicted to my cell phone that I am not even able to leave it for even seconds. I happened to come across an interesting passerby who has two mobile phone hooked to his both . Curiosity got better of me and I did ask him what the matter is. Pat came the reply and he said that he has three more which he cannot carry because he has only two ears. Of course that was not the answer I wanted, but it clarifies the situation that man was in. I too am in a similar situation. I took a phone connection two years back and gave that number to all my friends, relatives, business associates etc. I took another connection last week because the former connection was too costly. Now I use the first one for only answering incoming calls and the later for outgoing. Funny? I cant help it.

I used to survive without a cellphone, but I had one since 1999. From then on, I carried one everyday. I have had 3 phones since then. Right now, I couldn't imagine life without a cellphone, since it's my primary communication tool for my boyfriend who's miles away from here. It keeps me connected to the people whom I love.

Why not as I'm not addict to it and I think that it's still expensive in my area.

a few years ago there were very few mobiles within my friend circle.and it was considered to be a luxury.while at the present state life without mobile is completely unimaginable..the days when u have some network hangups or some problem with your mobile becomes pretty miserable ..it has become a part and parcel of our life.

Yes. I also had my first cellphone in the year 1998 and i think i had many cellphones from then on. If you asked me this question sometime in the year 2000, may be i'll answer no. But now, i can live without my cellphone. I don't wanna text and i seldom call. My friends also seldom call me or text that is why i can live without it. There is more to do than your cellphone always besides you or in your pocket.Goodluck!
