I have a LCD Monitor now for one year and I am very satisfied with it. Before I had two CRT monitors and they did not last long. They used up so much space.
My work place looks so much nicer now. I am really happy with the LCD I got now. It has a silver rim and is big, 19 inch.

we are using a crt monitor. we will be switching to lcd soon. the lcd monitors are friendlier to the eyes. they are cool to use whereas, the crt ones are much too glaring. my eyes gets so tired after an hour at the computer.

I will suggest you go for ViewSonic or Samsung. Samsung is in the market for a long time and ViewSonic was once the best brand here about 5-6yrs back and now they have come back.....

I have a CRT monitor which takes up space on my computer desk. I would like to get an LCD monitor, but I don't have the money for it right now. I didn't go for the CRT monitor, it wasn't my choice. In my house, our computer mainly have CRT monitors. Only 3 people in my house have flat screens and they are so thin that they barely take up space on computer desks. You could fit your LCD monitor nice and up against the wall with your keyboard in front.

I use LCD monitor. It will not make me to use a spectacle. The low radiation with enough colors is good for me.It is compatible low space and power consuming.

I have a 15" Compaq 5500 that carries a Coloreal mark. I want to sell it and go for an LCD. I've seen LCDs and find 'em cool. But will I be able to see the true colors on LCD as I can see now on my CRT? I've seen other CRTs also but they do not produce colors as true as my monitor.

Yes of course.... LCDs and CRTs in market to day cannot be differentiated by the way they produce colors. They all are brilliant. And i think your friend is not using a proper color profile for the monitor or he has a bit faulty monitor.....

I will prefer to go with Philips. LG's couple of CRT models had some problem. Althoguh i am not sure how LG will be in LCD market, you can trust Philips rather than any other manufacturer. You do have other options like BenQ as well.

I recommend 17 or 19 inch because LCD's price has fallen much and most of the new games and website will work and look best on a 1024x768 resolution screen and a 15inch monitor will have resolution of 800x600. Unlike CRT monitor, resolution of LCD screens cannot be changed. Actually it can be changed, but the screen will not be readable then. So go for a 17 inch lcd.
