In an anime, what do you look first in the characters?

Sometimes in picking an anime, we also give importance to the characters. What traits, attitudes, looks, voice etc. you want in an anime character? Mine, I like long-haired Girls and somehow silent!^_-

Oh, I'm referring to the female types with that. He characters... well I don't like enough of them to count really. ^_^; But yeah the characters are secondary to a good storyline. Good art is ranked after that, followed by nice music. This thing needs an edit button ^_^;

I look for the storyline first in an anime. But I tend to like characters that have a funny side to them.

hmmm, i go for the story first, how did the character ended up to be like such...but for a character, i always look first on the eyes, i like eyes that are a mixed of emotions and personalities, have you considered kenshin himura's eyes? its a mixed of a killer instinct but you can also see the gentleness and the honesty, deep man...and characters having an ironic taste on them, ever heard of chrono, in chrono crusade?

Yeah you're right because some characters tend to change in an later episode so you cant say that their like this or that.

I like long-haired guys and girls and with different colors of hair (white, pink, purple, green...) I also like when they're strong or funny. Or both at the same time. I don't care if they're main characters, evil or good, I just like those different attitudes like being a wizard, a knight, ninja, samurai, princess, etc.
