I wash most of my clothes inside out....jeans, t'shirt, shirt, etc sweaters, etc. Also for undies and bra's except that I put them in special bags before toss them in washing machine. It does help to prevent the colour of my clothes from fading and the accesories/ print of the clothes stay nice.... How do you wash your clothes ??? Do you wash them inside out ??? Or just simply toss them directly in the washing machine ??? Or maybe you have other way of washing your clothes...

For 2 years of living alone without my washing machine to depend on, I've been doing the laundry in this manner (steps): 1. I soak clothes (separately, depending on the clothing and color) in water with detergent for an hour or so... this will make the stains easy to wash off later. 2. Then, I'll handwash them on both sides. First on the outside, then I turn it inside out to handwash the insides, this is done so because I'll be hanging these clothes later inside out (to prevent the sun's direct contact from damaging the outside of the clothes) 3. Then I'll rinse the clothes three times, with my favorite scented fabric softener on the 3rd rinse.. There! They're so clean now and really smells great! :D

I just throw them in. Is there a special reason you wash them inside out? I don't usually think about it, i just figure all the bad stains or spots are on the front, so i would want that to hit the detergent first.

One of the reasons, I wash them inside out the print/ accesories of the t'shirt will stay nice because tumbling them in the was machine tend to damaged the print. Thank you for your respond !!!

Some of my clothes go into the washer inside out and some of my clothes just go in the other way. Does it make a difference which way they go in because when they come out they are the opposite so I am assuming both sides get washed thoroughly. I do try to separate my colors and my whites to make sure the colors do not bleed on my other clothes.

I have always washed my items inside out. I was taught years ago that turning the clothing inside out helped to prolong the life of the garment and prevented picks and nicks on the item's right side. Whether this is all true or not is beyond me! I just got in the habit of doing it!

I believe jeans are supposed to be washed inside out and hung out that way so the sun doesn't fade them. BVut they are going to fade no matter what you do. I have a cover on my line because the sun is too hot and detrimental to the care of fabrics. The water here is also harsh and the sun combined with the water wears out clothes very quickly, the colours and the fabric itself.

Hmmm, you're right...no matter what you do the jeans are going to fade anyway and some meant to be that way. And yes, the sun can be too hot and can turn the laundry as dry as a potato chips (phew), a good thing that you have a cover for your line...it helps to protect your clothes....smart lady !!! Thank you for sharing !!!

Like you do, I always wash my clothes inside out. Because I see grimes from my sweat sticking at the inside. It becomes easy to clean that part. I do not have washing machine. So I clean it manually.

Of course, we need to wash that stinky smelly sweat off from your clothes too....hehehe Thank you for your respond !!!

Hi Apakabar, I also wash my clothes inside out. But I just toss them directly in the washing machine afterwards. And I also take note of stained items, which would be scrub by hand after the washing machine stops spinning. (^^,)

Hopefully there won't be too many clothes that has stained, otherwise you'll have to handwash all the laundry that had been wash by washing machine again....hehehe.... Thank you for your cute respond !!!

Things like my jeans I normally turn inside out! Other stuff I just chuck in the washer... I used to be very lazy and not bother separating my whites and colours, but due to ruining so many clothes I take the time to sort them.... Oh and checking the pockets for tissue too! :0)

Since young I have always been taught by my mother than clothese should always been washed, turned out, as she claims that this will be more effective in cleaning out any dirt that miught be stuck to the clothes and also to prevent colours from wearing out.

I aalways wash my clothes inside out. It is much better that way. I put the delicate items in a mesh bag and throw them in with the other clothes.

I wash mine inside out as well using the washing machine. I find that really helps in preventing the fading. I also only wash using cold wash.
