The sun! Without it you would die, life itself depends on the sun.. let us worship the day and the night because we have both and need both for the biology that created yesterday. I'm not religious but i could worship the sun, or at least be thankful/grateful. I could call him O'father my lord.. maybe but the sun is cooler than that he's always wearing sunglasses

I thought what was so great about athiests was their lack of need for a G-d.Why would a atheist worship anything?Am I wrong?

I wonder whether the atheist he has relationships with objects around him that are peasant-god like in nature and that there are some real objects that all humans are under.. does that not lead to some form of collectiveness?

The sun has actually been worshiped by many cultures. Myself... I must say I don't really like the sun, if it wouldn't be for the ozone layer our beloved planet has given us your newly found god would conduct mass-murder ;). But nice find, hehe :p.

So worship the ozone layer if i care! Its interesting that so many past cultures worshiped the sun it is a more absolute form of 'god' than present popular forms seem to be.

By coincidence, I am enormous fan of the sun. I live in such a rainy climate, that I enter a state of bliss when it finally comes out. Still, I don't really have any drive to worship anything. I can appreciate a mindless process that sustains life on this planet, but I don't feel any urge to praise it or make sacrifices to it.

He loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus to die for you and me, and to pay for ALL our sins. He loves you when we cursed and blamed Him for everything that does not go right in our lives. God loves you... more than you ever know....

Wow God is really really nice. I love God too but until I know what that means its hard to direct it if God is everything then why is important? Jesus is not paying for any of my sins! I am paying for my "sins" actions have consequences..

the sun isn't illogical. nothing illogical about honouring the things that give you life.

I agree there but I think that even if we don't have a god to believe in I think that we shoudl still respect the earth, worship adn adore it in the same way that many people do their god. I think that air, fire, water, earth adn spirit are all impotant to us. Air so we may breath, fire so we may cook, water so we may drink adn wash and feed the animals and plants, earth so we may grow our foods adn spirit as that is our inner beinga nd without it we would not be who we are, or have the feelings we do.

I do. sort of. my Gods, I don't really worship them as such. I honour them. it's different.
