I need help with associated content.

I am new to associated content, and had a few questions that I was hoping fellow mylotters would be able to answer. First of all I was kinda wondering exactly how the site works. What should I write about? How do I get paid? Do I get paid for everything I do? Like I said I am new to this site so I was wondering if any other people that use the site would be able to help me out a little bit.
