i think that the monster is a Nanorobots cloud, this would explain the metallic sound and the movement in swarm and you what is thinks?

I think the smoke monster is more spirtual than mechanical.

Thanks for your input. I have not even been able to come up with a speculation as to the monster cloud. Until we learn otherwise from the show, it is a nano robot cloud to me. Thanks, again.
