Philippines is a great country populated by gentle, peace-loving and ever-enduring people. A smiling and happy people despite of many tragedies (both man-made and natural), we are known as the only Christian nation in Asia. And I am proud to be Pinoy despite of everything (I just closed my eyes when I said that hehehehe). Really, there is no place like home. There is no place like Philippines.
With all the blessings and welath of the country, for sure a lot of us find some things we don't like about the country, well aside from the politics of course.
Please post here the things you never like about the country (don't include any politic-related things as I will reserve that in another topic hehehehehe).

Oh Jeez! Where do I start?! (haha! Ganun un kadami!) I'm proud to be Pinoy but there are some things that I don't like about the country where I came from. Such things include POLITICS, CORRUPTION, CRAB MENTALITY, SHOWBIZ, POLLUTION, PRICE INCREASE, EXCESIVE TAXES, PYRAMID SCAMS, MMDA (URINALS TOO!), GULLIBLE PEOPLE WHO USUALLY VOTE FOR PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE CELEBRITIES, PEOPLE WHO LOOK LIKE MONEY, THE BANANA REPUBLIC GOVERNMENT (including it's system), INJUSTICE, MONEY AND POWER THAT MOST PEOPLE ABUSE and many more! It's hard not to notice such things but it's also embarassing to hate something in your country. Honestly, this is not yet enough. I'm still thinking for more but don't get me wrong, I also love plenty of things from this country! ^^

The pollution is horrible. I don't understand why people burn leaves and garbages even plastics and rubbers, it's wrong. Some people would just throw their trash anywhere, even in the water. That's why I don't blame foreigners when they say that our country's dirty and stinks because it really is. I'm disgusted to see garbages dump just anywhere and people throwing them in water. Philippines would have been a better place if we have people who cares about our environment. Another thing that I hate is our entertainment, music and showbiz. A lot of them are bunch of copycats! nothing but copycats! The artist here can't come up with something original. Say in the music industry, do you notice that almost everyone's songs are revival and they even make it as the debut single too. Really check their record and you would see that most of the songs are revival. They don't do anything anyway but ruin the songs. And in movies, and tv shows, why do they keep stealing stories from hollywood? How original. This is the reason why I barely watch Filipino shows because it's full of crap.

i dont like the pollution it keeps the weather super hot. and now that it is summer, the effects are really noticeable, according to one of the respondents, hottest summer ever, and i agree.
i also dont like the filipinos lack of discipline. especially when it comes on the road. drivers, whether public or private have their own share of driving problems that really gravitates the problem of traffic on main roads.

Same as you I also proud to be a Filipino despite of everything (and I mean everything, politics, garbage, corruption, etc.). One thing that I think we should get rid is our observation of the "Filipino Time". We are always late with our appointment and even in occasions where we are invited. It seems we are afraid to be first in the place.

What I don't like about Philippines is the crab mentality of a lot of people here. If someone they know have a good life and they have known that such business of your flourish they would surely make a couple of such same business as well. And the result would end up all of you could no longer earned .Crab mentality is common in community as well as in our country and that is something which I don't like.

What i dont like here in the Philippines is poverty. So many squatters and beggars around , I dont know what government will do about it but it is something we should not be proud of specially if we have foreign visitors, i remember when the Pope came here what the government did was cover the squatters area so that it will not be visible , I remember also the comment of Kate Winslet of Titanic that these are the things she dont like about Philippines.

generally, what i don't like about the philippines is its people, us Filipinos. i can say that we had not grown as mature people. we still lack the discipline in following simple rules in the country. we are used to blaming each other or pointing our fingers to others when some tragic events happen to us. we tend to be more pessimistic rather than optimistic.
but despite of these negative feelings, i am still proud to be a filipino in words, in thoughts, and in deeds. i hope that we start breaking our old bad habits.

the thing that i don't like about the philippines is the beliefs ,.because i think it's not true ..like the beliefs that my mother told to me .,she said that don't cut my finger nails at night ,,because it's bad ,.and i asked her why ,.but she didn't answer my question ,,it means that this belief has no base ..to say that cutting nails at night is bad .,

OK aside from my most hated politics...I don't like the dirty ocean, rivers and lakes where people throw garbage...I don't like the traffic as well..the smoke velchers...I don't like the fact that there are lots of people in h Philippines starving, jobless and homeless..I don't like the high tax the government asks us workers to pay..but other than that I love my country amidst all these...especially how children respects and cares for the elders unlike other countries..

I am from the philippines and I am a Filipino but even though I much I care and love my Filipino people and how much I love the Philippines there are many things that I dont like.
We have attitudes that is not good like; laziness
taking advantage of people and witht e kind of political system, people are suffering so badly. The Philippines is a picture of the extreme of both worlds of the very pood and the very rich. NOw, the Philippines has another name in the world map as one of the most corrupt countries int he world and I hate to be tagged as such. Its sad but its the truth.

Another think I don't like in our country is the justice system. If we fix these we are on our way out with the 10 most corrupt countries in the world. It is very slow, it is expensive, and no justice. Justice only belong to the rich. I have a case filed due to some debt incur to me by one individual. First you hire a lawyer, he charged you already excessively even you did not win the case yet. There are lot's of red tape before even the first hearing. After a judge was assign the hearing start (another money). Since the dependant did not appear and arrest warrant was issued by judge. You know what, you go to the police and give the warrant and they will not do anything unless you give them some money. So up to now, the culprit already left the country and you are stuck with the warrant with no action and your money lost. I don't know how we are going to fix these my friend but as long as there is no justice we will be like these forever.

i like my country. its where i was born and eventually grown up with. I know it has a nasty environment because of overwhelming trashes but the tourists spots and places are great. its a tropical country. so its really hot here. but id rather be here than in cold places.whew!
i dont like the justice system, the way the politics run adn politicians do their work. I also dont like the many nomads and squatter areas here most especially in Manila. Poverty is one reason and lack of education and illiteracy leads to it that makes most of the Filipinos grow dumb of.
Though despite of these many problems,, i still love it. Its a beautiful country to be treasured. There are many tropical fruits, foods and animals to be found only here!
