My Mum used to wash most of our clothes in the washing machine, but my sisters and I had to wash our own smalls, from the age of ten, twice a week. That included panties, bras and tights.
We also had to take turns in cleaning our room and helping my Mum our with housework on a Sunday, or helping my Dad peel vegetables and cut them, ready for dinner. I think it's a good exercise to have to do your own washing from a young age. I know we have washing machines now but it teaches you the values of life, and hygiene, also.
Brightest Blessings.

when i had to be away from my parents, that was when i was in high school and had to live out of town, at the age of 13. it was really hard and have to always think ahead of time, what to wear tomorrow, the next day and so on, worst is i had to give up some fun to spend it with the laundries. x_x
