Why is it that lots of people enjoy eating ice cream in cold areas?

I am from a tropical country, but my observation is that whenever our climate hits the coldest temparature lots of people were craving for ice cream... Up to now I am wondering why? Because from the word alone ice is cold... now, How come during the coldest moment were people craving for it... and during summer people does not like it... Any opinion pls?

Because people don't respond well to a warm environment and then really cold ice cream. It is a shock, but, if you eat cold ice cream in a cold environment, there is not such a need to acclimatize, and it is easier to eat.
