Do u get nervous when u have to attend a formal dinner?

I really do. I once had a formal dinner before with my girlfriend's family. It was my girl's birthday. It really turned out such a beautiful disaster. First, im not used to wear formal clothes yet I did. They didn't invite more people for that party. It was very formal that i need to follow the proper table manners and stuff. My heart was bugging me until the end. Her family members would ask me several questions about our relationship. im so nervous the whole time.
