Have you ever woke up in the morning and just had no desire to get up? All you wanted to do was pull the covers up over your head and go back to sleep in hopes that when you opened your eyes again life and you would be better.
What do you do on days like this? Do you give in to that feeling or force yourself to get up and get moving?
I make myself get up and start moving. I have found that staying in the bed on makes it worse for me. If I can get my feet on the floor and do some type of activity it seem to help me feel better.
What about you?

I am glad to say, yes. i've been in such conditions too many times. after an hour or so,i will unconsciously get up and sit for awhile at a small garden at the back of my house. my dogs usually will try to cheering me up but i ignore them and just sit there and enjoy the morning sunlight. in that kind of day, i will not going to spend my time thinking about something hard. and i will watch comedy dvd and laugh hard. i am thinking, maybe, like most computers in the world, maybe our brain having an error and it needs to be restart. and laughing is the restart botton for me.

This is definitely true if you're force to wake up to something that you don't want to...like going to work for jobs you hate...or doing chores you don't want to...or yeah when it's raining and what better things to do than stay in bed?

i was under depression for two years constantly...when my dad got transferred and we had to go to a city i loathed. i dint like the chool there....and i was so sad and depressed that i dint even look at my face in the mirror for two years at stretch....can u imagine that? every morning i used to wake up wishing that there would be a holiday at school....and everyday after coming from school i used to cry a lot. im thankful to god that those days are over. i dint get over depression. it just vanished with time...now that i am no longer in the same city!

OK, I'll admit it! That is exactly what I did today. It is overcast, raining and ugly outside. I am a sunshine person. I suffer from PTSD and severe depression. I wish I could reach that happy medium. I am currently out of work due to job displacement. Tomorrow promises to be a great day because I am heading out that door to drop a resume off and to check into classes for a new skill.
Sometimes we just need to take time for ourselves and close out the rest of the world.

Yes, it seems almost every morning, I wish I didn't have to get up and all I want to do is forget that the day is ahead. I wish I could just stay in bed and the day would pass me by but I get up and do my morning routine and push myself and some mornings, I have to cry a bit but I keep pushing. Then the day starts brightening up.

I have had quite a lot of days like that. I guess the main reason is because I have a bipolar illness. Some days I don't quite make it, but the majority of them I do. It is a constant struggle. Today I might be full of energy and on cloud nine, then tomorrow I just want to roll myself up in a ball and cry. Through counseling and medication I have learned to cope pretty well. At first, however, I felt like I was on a roller coaster all the time. It's all a matter of keeping hope alive.

It depends on my mood that day..If i get enough sleep from the day before and have so many things to do, i will force my self to wake up and not pull the covers up again..But,usually when i get the day free, i will become lazy, in the morning open my eyes and then sleep again until a few hours^^..I feel now when i force my self to sleep and sleep again,my body would become painful,so better when 1st wake up then do some useful activity..

I'm pretty sure that most of us have that feeling at one time or other in our lives, I know I have. I've found when that happens, it helps to give yourself something to look forward to, depending on how often this happens to you, make it once a month or once a week, you just may find this very helpful.

If I can get up and do something, i sometimes feel better, but it takes a lot of effort to get up and do something. Sometimes I don't have it in me.
I play music that I like on the CD player in the alarm clock, and sometimes that makes me feel calmer or better, enough so that I can get to the shower. I usually feel 'down' for the rest of the day though.

Oh yes many of time.LOL But I agree you have to get them feet on the ground and start moving. Thats the only way someone can feel better. Either emotionally or physically I found getting up and just doing something is a big help. We cant dwell and feel sorry for ourselves.LOL Well we can but that doesnt help.

There are many days I feel this way. It's not always easy to drag myself out of bed. Having something that depends on me helps. I have to get my neice up for school. She doesn't have an alarm clock so if I don't get up she doesn't and then I have her all day. Not a good thing to have with depression is a kid around, at least for me. Also having mylot and other ways to earn some money on line help me to get motivated. It doesn't always work but it can help.

if at times i am in that situation , i would just let it be because i know i won't be that productive if i forced myself to get up and dance! i am more productive if i am relaxed. it is ok for because i am not employed by anyone.i am my own boss.

Just this morning i had a hard time getting up. It's not that i'm feeling lazy. Although my mind's already awake, my body and my eyes still feeling in low spirit... There are times that i do indulge myself and sulking on bed, that is when i don't have anything important to do and no work. But this morning, i've to get up. I was even late for work because of that. (",)
