To all my friends,
I have spent the whole afternoon on pm you guys on the page, 2 pm's went through.
This is not funny anymore! So I am determined to help you guys so now I'm reverting to a discussion. here are the instructions.
Customize your personal page.
1) Open note pad you will need it to copy and paste your codes.
2) Go to one of these links to download your code for your background
http://www.profilemods.com/ or http://www.blinkyou.com/index.php, or any other of your choice
3) Copy the URL and paste it in notepad
4) Go to your personal page
5) Click on “edit profile”
4) In the top right hand corner, on the outer page, you will see “edit-add content"
5) Click on add content
6) In the drop down box, click sortie container
7) In the next drop down box, click one Column Container
8) Add item
9) Scroll down on your page; at the bottom you should see the new 1 Column Container # no. so and so
I leave it with so and so because it all depends how many containers you have.
10) Make a note of the Container no.
11) Go back to the top right hand corner and click on add content AGAIN
12) In the drop down box, click sortie
13) In the next drop down box, click Html
14) In the next drop down box click the container, which you made a note of, It should be the very last one.
15) Then it will ask you “which column do you want to add it to," it should be Column 1
Because you created earlier only one column container. If it is so then you have done everything right so far, if not go back and start over, remember to delete the container.
16) Add item
17) Scroll down and you will see there is a HTML sortie inside your 1Column Container.
18) Hover over the right hand corner of your sortie, you will see edit, DUBBLE click on edit.
19) Your sortie will open and you will see "Enter text here"
20) Go to your notepad and copy the URL code and paste it there. If you want your containers to be “see through”
21) In the sortie background and border color you type in “transparent” and close the sortie.
If you want to play around more, go back to the outer page top right hand corner, edit-add content and click on edit. There you will see the following, and I will give you my settings.
Main Theme: in all three transparent
Left Menu Theme: the first two, transparent and the others I’ve got different colors
Footer theme; first two transparent, last three colors. Here you can play around with color and transparency.
A few notes pertaining the copy and paste of your URL code: make absolutely sure that the code starts with
Left facing If not the code will not work.
That’s why I suggest you use a simple editor like note pad.
Good luck

Hi Annie! I tried it myself a while ago. I read from your other post that it was to create a html sortie. And being a good student of yours and having reach success with the clock, I thought of it as like for the clock. So I tried it. But, ~~lol~~ I had an important missing data. I wanted to make you proud. But, it worked "but" the boxes where white...~LOL~~ And I thought what if I type the word "clear". Well, I tried it too. And the same thing, it was with huge white boxes..lol. And I didn't want to bother you, especially that I am already grateful for the clock. But, I'm happy you posted it. You're so kind. A very truly great person and friend. So generous. It's honest ha. You share your blessings and you're just so great!!! And now I know the "magic word" and it's "clear" now~~lol I'll try it again. And eventually, I'm already grateful..More blessings for you Annie! A bunch of thank yous!! (^^,)

Sweetheart, not all background URL codes seem to work, I don't say it is impossible but it is quite complicated. So I suggest you have a few alternative backgrounds to choose from.
Thank you for the kind words, and I look forward in seeing your new page!

I keep putting things off til later, and personalizing is another thing I have been putting off. I think this is a good discussion, because anyone who sees your stunning page will want to do the same. Thanks for posting this discussion. I even printed the instructions.

Great stuff my friend. Despite your nerves being
a bit frazzled you've supplied us all with some
awesome instructions. I simply don't know what
to use. I guess I'll have to make up my own mind.
Perhaps a huge portrait of me. Hmmmm?

That's the spirit, try yourself first and then ask hubby. Am I detecting a little "I'm blond" stunt as an excuse here? or the damsel in distress stunt! lol I know you can do it:) so you are not fooling me with those two stunts! lol

Yes, I got your pm. I can't wait to see what my page looks like either. For the survey site, you have to log in and then you can see how many surveys are waiting for you.

Hey Annie. Thanks for the information on how to Customise our personal profile pages. I am going to try this at the weekend when I have a bit more time. It is a holiday here on Monday for MayDay so maybe I will do it before then. It looks a lot but if I follow your instructions then maybe I can do this. I want to put the clock near the top of the page anyway. You page is really cool by the way! Thanks again. Talk soon.
:)

Of course you will be able to do it, it just takes a bit of practice, so the holiday is page day I see! You need some time, because I tried in the beginning to customize the page and still carry on with MyLot on multiple pages, forget it, it is better just to concentrate on your page and get it done.
Don't be scared that you're going to stuff things up, in case of a mistake. You just delete what ever container or sortie you created, and start over. Afterwards you can move the containers around in the order you want them, like in your case you want the clock, at the top.
Well good luck! and I will pop in as soon as you are finished.
