Have you ever been to a long distance relationship?

I miss my girlfriend so much. I've been gone for quite sometime now. We've been talking on phone and chatting on the web. But I feel that its not enough. I don't know if i should regret going to USA or not. I just hope she can wait for me.
Have you been to a long distance relationship? Did it work for you? I hope it works with me.

Actually in one now, my girlfriend lives in Sweden whilst I live in Holland. Every couple of months we get the chance to spend some time together so those are the great moments, this summer we'll be having like 8 weeks together which is going to be awesome.
We've been together for over a year already now and I really love her, she loves me as well. If we'll make it through the next year as well she'll be moving over here as she finished school, so just hoping for that time to pass by as fast as possible :).
