Climate and ice cream, do they connect?

Maybe because of the climate here in the Philippines, numerous brands of ice cream are widespread. From Arce Dairy, Fruits in Ice Cream down to Nestle Magnolia and Selects. Mind you, these are just the popular ones. After relating climate and ice cream, I began thinking, isn't US cooler than Philippines? So, does this mean that ice cream isn't that popular and mouth watering? I wonder...

the climate doesnt change anything although you wont get that much in cold areas the taste stays the same
