Are you outspoken and like to speak your mind? I do but I think there is a limit to everything. I don't just say EVERYTHING that is on my mind..especially if it is something negative. But I know some people who will say everything and anything under the sun even if it means hurting someone's feelings cos' they say they are outspoken and only want to speak the truth and that they have a right to voice their opinion, etc. I think it's good to be able to speak out about things but I also think TACT is absolutely necessary. Some people just talk without thinking. I think that's damaging especially since a lot of the things they say are negative. What about you? Are you outspoken? Do you like to speak your mind?

I always speak my mind, I say it like it is and how it will be. Nobody ever has to wonder how I am feeling because I always tell them. I dont feel the need to not say how I feeel. If I hurt someones feelings in the process, that isnt my intent but people have to understand everyone works differently.

While I completely believe that I am an outspoken person, but I also am a nice person; while I can not control the thoughts that come to my mind about any specific subject....I can control the words that come out of my mouth...or in this case the words that come through my fingers ( which I say because I have read some really mean things here at times).....I would never intentionally hurt someone....I see no point....the negative things I could say would make no positive outcome......and to be mean in the name of "truth" is a crock...some people just like to use that as an excuse!
I also think that you can say something nice and get your point across....if it is imperative that you make that point....Tact is a wonderful habit more people should practice, in my opinion.

That's how I feel too. I don't think we need to hide what we feel or who we are but we can say stuff in a good way that builds and not destroy. My pastor said something really good yesterday..you can be opinionated without being judgemental. How true!!!!

"Opinionated without being judgemental"--these words describe me very well I think....I know that they are definantly words that I strive to live up to each day.
I appreciate being awarded with "the best response". Thank you so much, it is an honor!

I'm not afraid to say what I feel about most issues, but when I'm dealing with another person I make sure that I'm being as constructive as possible instead of insulting. (Unless they've made me shockingly angry. Then they pay!) I also try to think of whether or not the positive effect of what I say would outweigh any negative effects of it. I know too many people that just shoot their mouth off at people without even thinking of what it's going to do to them so I try to be as nice as possible without holding back saying something necessary.
