The history of Jesus is very murky indeed. I always find it a bit fascinating that there are so many true believers who know absolutely nothing about the man they profess to be the son of god. As a character in history Jesus is very weakly supported by documentary evidence. There is not a single piece of direct evidence for his existence. Now, under normal historical scrutiny, this would call into question the fact they he indeed existed at all. I find that true believers never bother with such details though.

Well it might be in your little world, but time is regarded rather differently in the various regioons. Certainly the Chinese have their own calender, the Mayans, the Egyptians, the Aztecs (I could go on for some times)also had no concept of the calender you suggest.
But then you don't seem aware that the use of that calendar was brought about by brutality as opposed to any agreement of academics.
Hope you can do a lot better than this, I used to hear this sort of things from 5th graders 25 years ago.

I believe if you look into historical religious studies, The Christ was a title given to mean Anointed One. It was not a surname but an observation of enlightenment.

I wonder since there is nothing written by the man Jesus, but plenty written about him, why misrepresent that which we are so unfamiliar with ?
